The age old method reduces the likelihood of pests and diseases and improves productivity. A yearly rotation schedule would look something like this. Bed 1 Bed 2 Bed 3 Bed 4 Brassicas and leafy vegetables Alliums Legumes Other – Rooting and fruiting crops Tomatoes, Season 1 Cabbage, pak choi, silverbeet etc. Onions, leeks, garlic, chives Peas, beans, broad beans, okra etc. potatoes, carrots, celery Season 2 Legumes Brassicas Other Alliums Season 3ear 4 Alliums Legumes Brassicas Other Season 4 Other Alliums Legumes Brassicas Give it a go this year. Remember to keep notes because you will forget what crop you planted last season. Happy planting!
