MSU Blue Line Club Supporting Spartan Hockey Since 1962 NEWSLETTER • VOL. 1, 2018-19 Ready to Roll Dear MSU Blue Line Club, It was a great summer, but hockey season is the best time of the year and is back. The team had a very good spring and summer prepping for the year. Once classes began we were able to get on the ice 4 hours a week and it has been good to get back to work. The team is starting from a better place than last year and we like the progress of both the returners and the newcomers. The plan to renovate Munn is moving along well and the objective is to begin construction next summer. Fundrais- ing has been excellent and put us in that position. The renovation will be outside of the footprint of Munn, so it will not obstruct with games during the 2019-20 season. This summer we made some improvements to Munn that you may notice. The white border around the concourse was re-painted, the interior doors have been re-done with either a logo or some photos, the banners were replaced and updated, and we added lights in all of the corners near the concession stands. The lights should be very notice- able as you move around the concourse. The first series will be a good one against a strong NMU team. They return most of their team and the majority of their top scorers. We have some great competition for ice time with our squad and the guys are excited to get playing. We look forward to facing off and also to seeing you at our luncheon Friday, Oct. 12. Go Green! Coach Cole Congrats to our newest letter jacket owners! Nine players and two managers received their letter jackets on Sept. 27 at MSU’s annual Hall of Fame and Letter Jacket ceremony at the Whar- ton Center. Tommy Apap, Gianluca Esteves, Aus- tin Kamer, David Keefer, Mitchell Lewandowski, Tommy Miller, Jake Smith, Brody Stevens and Spencer Wright all received their jackets from head coach Danton Cole and athletics director Bill Beekman.
