Happy 2020! I hope the New Year is off to a great start for all of
you!
I'm excited for our Inaugural Liverpool FC International Academy
SoCal Spring Season Kick-off Event on Feb. 1st, and look forward
to ALL of you joining us as we officially launch into our spring
season!
This will be a great opportunity for our JDL, PCA and Club families
to celebrate together. Come early and enjoy food trucks, vendor
booths, soccer challenges, a raffle with some great prizes, and the
very popular.....Under 30's vs Over 30's Coaches game! See you
there!

Last week I attended the USSC convention in Baltimore,
along with our LFCIA SoCal Directors and I was able to
paricipate in the UEFA conference on Elite performance,
with such guest presenters as Dr. Tony Strudwick of
Sheffield and Manchester Utd football clubs. Dr.
Strudwick discussed his experiences with elite training
environments within international football and club
football.
There was a myriad of lectures and
practical sessions being held and both
myself and the staff attended many
interesting sessions that we hope to glean
details from which can be used to weave
into the fabric of our club program.
I firmly believe that we have an excellent
program but we are always looking for
marginal gains, and events such as this
are imperative to help us develop our
player centric programs.
Pre Club Academy News
Our Center of Excellence (C of E) program has resumed as normal after the New Year
and we look forward to the jamboree styled games beginning on January 18th and
continuing for the two Saturdays following.
If you missed our first round of Spring 2020 Pre-Club Academy try-outs, don’t worry! We
have a second try-out coming up

Camp Spotlight
ENHANCE YOUR GAME with our Skills Development Centers! This program will give
players the ability to train under the tutelage of LFC International Academy coaches
learned in the principles and methodologies that are at the centre of what is taught at
LFC’s Academy in Liverpool.
Through the unique coaching methods of LFC, players will learn to improve technical
and tactical aspects of their game. Programs are offered in several areas - REGISTER
NOW, space is limited!

UWS Womens Team
We have some exciting news from the 2020 NWSL College Draft that
took place on Thursday, January 16th, in Baltimore! There were 36
total draftees in 4 rounds of the draft, 8 of which came from the United
Women's Soccer (UWS) League. 3 of the 8 UWS players that were
drafted came from our very own LA Galaxy OC Women's Team!
LAGOC Women's Team Midfielder, Taylor Kornieck (pictured on the
right) AND Abigail Kim (pictured on the left) were both selected by
Orlando Pride. Taylor was selected 3rd overall, and Abi was selected
26th overall.
LAGOC Women's Team Defender, and UWS National Defender of
the Year, Natalie Jacobs, was selected by the Washington Spirit
with the 13th overall pick.
Congratulations Taylor, Abi and Nat!
