THEATRE/COMEDY: Frank Pig Says Hello - Main Theatre, An Táin Arts Centre Friday 9th November at 8pm Tickets €18/€16 Booking https://antain.ticketsolve.com/shows/873592686 Co-Motion Media Desperately funny and yet deeply tragic, Frank Pig Says Hello is one of the great classics of modern Irish theatre. It tells the story of Francie Brady growing up in a small Irish town in the 1960s and his descent towards a brutal act that shocks his community. Based on Pat McCabe’s Booker-winning novel “The Butcher Boy”, the play distils Francie’s infamous narrative into a riveting evening of pure theatre. Featuring mesmerising performances by two actors, Darragh Byrne and John Ruddy, Frank Pig is regarded as one of the most vivid, hilarious and heart-breaking evocations ever seen on a stage of an Irish childhood and adolescence gone wrong. From the opening live trumpet notes over an image of a happy, comical boy acting the piglet, to the breath-taking depiction of a dark deed, this is theatre at its most entertaining and gripping best. COMEDY: Dirtbirds - Main Theatre, An Táin Arts Centre Saturday 10th November at 8pm Tickets €18/€16 Booking https://antain.ticketsolve.com/shows/873592688 If making the school lunches, doing the jaysus homework and dodging the guards because your NCT is out by two years is sending you over the edge, you are not alone. Come and join the Dirtbirds as they navigate the stresses and strains of modern life. This rip roaring two hours of comedy gold is a unique blend of hilarious sketch comedy and stand up. Brand new characters take to the stage along with some of the well-known favourites. Don’t miss this side- splitting show from the queens of sketch comedy.
