                                      Individual Breeds to be judged Wednesday 14th July 2021
                            - Guernsey, Holstein, Illawarra and Jersey judging to commence 9:00 a.m. SHARP.
        - Ayrshire will follow in the Holstein Ring and Brown Swiss will follow in the Guernsey Ring. Ayrshire and Brown Swiss
       judging commencement times will be determined in concunction with breed exhibitors (as determined and advised by the
                             Stewards) to commence as soon as practicable after the breed that they are following.
          Supreme Judging to be judged Wednesday 14th July 2021, commencing 15 minutes after the last breed class is

   Late Entries will be Accepted up until Friday 2nd July 2021 with a penalty that the Late Entry Fee: $36.00 per entry PLUS
 $20.00 per animal for bedding (non-refundable) for any entries received after Friday 18th June 2021. Absolutely NO entries
                                           will be accepted after Friday 2nd July 2021.

              BIOSECURITY QUEENSLAND REQUIREMENTS AND RULES OF CATTLE SECTION
                                These rules will be strictly observed.

BIOSECURITY QUEENSLAND REGULATIONS
All Queenslanders have a ‘general biosecurity obligation’ (GBO) under Queensland's Biosecurity Act 2014 (PDF, 1.5MB).
Not complying with the GBO is an offence.
This means that everyone is responsible for managing biosecurity risks that are:
• under their control and
• that they know about, or should reasonably be expected to know about. Under the GBO, individuals and organisations whose
activities pose a biosecurity risk must:
• take all reasonable and practical steps to prevent or minimise each biosecurity risk
• minimise the likelihood of causing a ‘biosecurity event’, and limit the consequences if such an event is caused

All stock entering the Gatton Showgrounds must meet the national Bovine Johnes requirements. Exhibitors must advise their
Johne’s Disease status at the time of entry.
STOCK GENERAL:
EXHIBITORS REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:
• National Vendor Declaration (Cattle) and Waybill, or Movement Record Document
• National Health Declaration Form Exhibitors should be aware that clearing facilities at NSW/Queensland
Border Crossings at Kirra/Tweed Heads and Mt Lindsay are not permanently staffed. Exhibitors should make prior
arrangements with the respective Border Crossing Points before commencing their journey.

JOHNE’S DISEASE – for Bovine Johne’s Disease
It is your General Biosecurity Obligation as the exhibitor NOT to knowingly spread the disease. Any Cattle from suspected herds
that have not yet been cleared by Biosecurity Queensland will not be accepted on to the showgrounds.
Rules:
• Each exhibitor has an obligation to take all reasonable and practical measures to prevent the introduction into, and spread of
   Johne’s disease within, Queensland.
• Exhibitors must not enter animal(s) which are reasonably known or suspected of being infected with Johne’s disease,
   including animals which have been introduced with a significant likelihood of being infected.
• Exhibitors must supply a health statement/declaration that provides information about the health of the animal including
   Johne’s risk. The health statement/declaration must not be false, incomplete or misleading.
Dairy Cattle entering Gatton Showgrounds from:
Johnes Disease Dairy Score (JDDS)
•      The scoring system for managing JD in dairy cattle was simplified in early 2019 and is called Johnes Disease Dairy Score.
•    Dairy cattle with a Johnes Disease Dairy Score of JDDS7 or JDDS8 is the standard set by Gatton Show Society for dairy
     cattle to be permitted onto Gatton Showgrounds.

                                          Watering of Stock on Gatton Showgrounds

Due to Bio-Security Regulations communal watering troughs will no longer be available and exhibitors are required to make
their own arrangements to water their cattle.

                                            Spraying Regulations for Gatton Show

Exhibitors from the Cattle Tick Free Area require their own completed waybill and a Permit to Travel issued by their local DPI
Stock Inspector to receive a free spraying and have it stamped for the return journey. Exhibitors without a permit will be charged
normal Inspection fees.
                Spraying will commence at 2.00 pm Wednesday, there is no charge to exhibitors for this service.

                             SPRAYING FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE ON THE SHOWGROUNDS

    OPEN BREEDS (For the following breeds) Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Holstein Friesian, Illawarra, Jersey

                      ALL STUD EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ENTRY CONDITIONS:

1. No Stud Cattle will be allowed entry to the Gatton Showgrounds unless accompanied by a fully completed waybill and return
   permit if required.
2. All Cattle must comply with current NLIS Regulations and will be read on the showgrounds before judging.
3. Please have Waybill available when cattle are to be read.
4. The Gatton Show Society has adopted the the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Society’s Inc. (Queensland Ag Shows)
Special Rules Stud Beef, Prime Beef and Dairy Cattle Regulations as the standard under which the competition shall be
conducted. The Regulations current as at the date of Judging Day shall be the rules under which the Show shall be conducted.
These Regulations can be viewed on the QUEENSLAND AG SHOWS website.
5. Gatton Show Society will operate its Show and all events in accordance with the Queensland Agricultural Shows and
Showgrounds Approved COVID Safe Industry Plan (the Plan) and it is a condition of entry that you agree to abide by the
requirements of the Plan, this includes but is not limited to instructions and space allocations. It is also recommended that you
provide your own seating as seats will not be provided this year.

     THESE CONDITIONS WILL BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO AS GATTON SHOW GROUNDS ARE D.P.I. APPROVED
                                            GROUNDS.

                               General Rules and Regulations – Dairy Section
 + All stock must be registered in a Breed Herd Book. Registration papers must be available at the time of inspection.
Provisional or applied for registration will be accepted at time of entry but registration papers must be available at the time of
inspection. Identification, whether tattoo or other along with registration papers will be checked at inspection.
+ We have been advised that the Australian Ayrshires rules is to only allow full Herd Book registered animals (ie animals with a
87.5% Ayrshire blood percentage) to be shown at all shows. Entries of Appendix cattle will not be accepted. Registrations of
Ayrshire cattle entered will be checked against the Australian Ayrshires database. This requirement will be enforced from the
2018 show onwards unless we are otherwise advised.
+ We have been advised that the Guernsey Cattle Society's policy is to disallow the showing of first-cross Appendix (i.e.
Appendix 3) cattle at all shows. Registrations of Guernsey cattle entered will be checked against the Guernsey Cattle Society
database. This requirement will be enforced from the 2017 show onwards unless we are otherwise advised.
+ A tattoo inspection of animals will be carried out prior to judging.
+ Age of all cattle to be from 1st June (refer attached Age cut-offs).
 + Name of sire, dam, also date of birth and tattoo or equivalent to be stated on entry form.
+ All stock must be free from ticks.
+ Bulls 9 months and over must be fitted with a nose ring.
+ Bulls one year and over must be handled by rod or two (2) leaders.
+ Milk disposal will be available on the grounds by an approved means at the direction of the Stewards.
+ Bedding provided will be shavings and exhibitors may provide their own top up bedding.
+ All stock will be shown subject to the DAIRY CATTLE CODE OF ETHICS cited below.
+ Exhibitors wishing to be stalled together should indicate this on their entry forms, this will however not guarantee being stalled
together.
+ Any exhibitors/competitors intending to bring electrical equipment to the Showgrounds will be required to ensure that such
equipment is fitted with residual current protection (with rated residual current < 30 mA) and that all electrical leads, tools and
appliances have been inspected by a licensed electrical contractor and currently tagged.The tag must be within the next test
due date. The use of double adaptors is prohibited and all power boards must also be tested and tagged.
+ Large hay bales and clipping frames are allowed but must be accommodated within an exhibitors stall allocation.
+ Workplace Health and Safety and Fire Regulations require that equipment and fodder must not block or intrude into alleys or
passageways as these MUST be kept clear AT ALL TIMES.
+ A “No Smoking Policy” will be strictly adhered to and policed by exhibitors/competitors and exhibitors/competitors are advised
that the use of Primus stoves, any heating or lighting appliances of a like character, or any naked light, is strictly prohibited in
the pavilions. Cooking is also not allowed in the pavillions
+ Exhibitors are able to purchase additional stalls above the stall allocation made for their entries. The cost for each additional
stall is the combined entry and bedding fee prescribed in the Schedule (2021 - $32). Additional stalls that are purchased will
include bedding.
+ Due to COVID requirements communal camping facilities will NOT be available and all exhibitors will be responsible for
organising their own requirements. Additional stalls will be allocated to enable exhibitors to comply with COVID requirements
particularly physical distancing. Exhibitors are also advised to expect some operational changes to be made to facilitate COVID
compliance.
+ A limited number of camping sites will be available for accommodation purposes. Booking of sites will be required to be made
with Applications for entry. Allocation will be on a first come first served basis. NO ALLOCATION will be available if not booked.
+ Animals will be catalogued and announced in the name of the Exhibitor named on the Entry Form submitted at the time of
entry, similarly any prize-money will be made payable to the exhibitor named on the Entry Form, this cannot be changed post-
entry.
+ Due to safety concerns exhibitors are requested NOT to use the old loading ramp near the Woodlands Road Gate
+ For Champions in individual breed classes all first and second prize winners of the relevant classes shall compete

SUBSTITUTIONS
+ The Qld Dairy Showcase Committee (QDSC) has introduced a new rule that allows for substitution of animals. Substitutes are
not required to be nominated at time of Entry. A substitute in lieu of an original Entry will be available from Monday 21st June
2021 and must be advised to the QDSC by written communication no later than 5:00pm FRIDAY 9th July 2021, there WILL BE
NO EXTENSIONS. Substitution is allowed within a SECTION ONLY. ie. an animal can replace the original animal
entered in a section ONLY. Sections are defined as Junior, Intermediate, Senior - Cow. Full details of the substitute
animal must be provided.

UDDER SCANNING
+ Udder Scanning will be conducted during the Queensland Dairy Showcase in 2019. All 1st and 2nd Place winners in each In
Milk Class will be required to report to the scanning area following judging of the respective class. Any animals not presenting
for scanning by 3:00pm on Wednesday 15th July 2021 will be excluded from any further competition and will result in forfeiture of
any prizes related to that animal.
As well, In Milk Supreme Champions will be required to report to the scanning area immediately following judging of the
Supreme classes, failure to do so will result in forfeiture of any prizes related to that animal.

                                                      SPECIAL CONDITIONS

+ All cattle entered in group classes must be the property of the exhibitor and entered in the General Classes.
+ Maternally Related pair is to consist of two daughters or two grand-daughters or one daughter and one grand-daughter of the
   one dam or dam and daughter, any age. Both animals must be entered in the General Classes. They need not be specified
   when making entry for this class. To be judged as a pen.

PRODUCTION AWARDS
+ Open to all cows and heifers exhibited in nominated classes (refer below) for the individual breeds which are herd recorded
   and have been awarded a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th place in a nominated class for individual animals judged on type alone.
   Eligible cows and heifers will be judged on the amount of Fat plus Protein produced in the first 305 days from calving (or
   upon ceasing to lactate, if fewer than 305 days from calving), provided that the lactation period of 305 days or fewer is
   completed between 19 June 2020 and 18 June 2021. The placed animal with the highest production will be awarded the
   production award in each class. Cows must have at least 5 tests (farmers own sampling will be accepted) evenly spaced
   over the entire lactation, with 2 samplings in each 24hour test and an average of 3.3% mass/volume fat or 3.0%
   mass/volume protein is reached.
   Lactation Certificates must be from a Herd Recorder Service and show the test dates for the nominated lactation and must
   be submitted along with your entry forms. Lactation Records approved by a Breed Society will also be accepted. Late
   Certificates WILL NOT be accepted and the animal WILL NOT be included for consideration for a production award.
+ Type and Production Classes: eligible animals for this class in each breed will only be the animal that receives the production
   award in the nominated classes. In the Type and Production Class in each breed the animals will be judged for type ONLY.
+ Nominated Classes for the Type and Production Class in each breed will be:
    -    Heifer 2 years and under 3 years, dry
    -    Heifer 2 ½ years and under 3 years, in milk
    -    Cow 3 years and under 5 years, dry
    -    Cow 5 years and over, dry
    -    Cow 3 years and under 4 years, in milk
    -    Cow 4 years and under 5 years, in milk
    -    Cow 5 years and under 6 years, in milk
    -    Cow 6 years and under 7 years, in milk
    -    Cow 7 years and over, in milk
(NO ENTRY FEE is required to enter these classes but animals MUST be entered in the General Classes)

DAIRY CATTLE CODE OF ETHICS
The showing of registered cattle is an important part of the promotion and development of their respective breeds and it plays
an important role in stimulating and sustaining interest in breeding registered cattle.
The Gatton Show Society believes it is in the best interest of the breeders of registered cattle to maintain a reputation of integrity
and to present a professional and progressive image in the show ring.
The Gatton Show Society further believes that cattle presented in the show ring should be presented in a natural, (normal
appearance), condition.
The Gatton Show Society has adopted the All Breeds National Show Ring Code of Ethics compiled by the All Dairy Breeds
Show Ring Committee as the standard under which the competition shall be conducted. The Code current as at the date of
Judging Day shall be the rules under which the Show shall be conducted.

Lodgement of a complaint under the DAIRY CATTLE CODE OF ETHICS by an exhibitor must be accompanied by a $50 fee.
BY LODGING AN ENTRY FORM FOR THE SHOWING OF DAIRY CATTLE EXHIBITORS ARE DEEMED TO HAVE READ
AND ACCEPTED THIS CODE OF ETHICS AND THEIR IMPLICATIONS.
ANY BREECH OF THIS CODE WILL BE CONSIDERED AS A SIGNIFICANT VIOLATION AND COULD REQUIRE AN
EXHIBITOR APPEARING BEFORE A DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE OF THE GATTON SHOW SOCIETY.

DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE
   1. The Disciplinary Committee shall comprise of such members as are appointed by The Gatton Show Society from time
       to time.
   2. The Gatton Show Society shall appoint a member of the Disciplinary Committee as Chairman of the Disciplinary
       Committee.
   3. For the purposes of any proceedings of the Disciplinary Committee, The Disciplinary Committee may conduct
       proceedings notwithstanding that any person who has been given notice fails to attend the proceedings.
   4. The Disciplinary Committee shall not be bound by any rules of evidence and shall conduct the proceedings with the
       minimum of formality and in such a manner as it sees fit.
   5. The Disciplinary Committee may require any member or exhibitor to attend at any proceedings of the Disciplinary
       Committee and to furnish such information and evidence and to produce such documents relevant to the proceedings
       as to the Disciplinary Committee seems fit.
   6. The Disciplinary Committee may, at its discretion, call for and hear expert evidence.
   7. No person will be legally represented without the leave of the Disciplinary Committee.
   8. The Disciplinary Committee may announce its decision orally or in writing. A decision that is announced orally shall
       have effect in accordance with its terms.
   9. If the opinion of the Disciplinary Committee is not unanimous, the decision of the majority shall prevail. If the
       Disciplinary Committee are equally divided on any question concerning the guilt or innocence of a person, the question
       shall be resolved in that person’s favour.
   10. If the Disciplinary Committee considers that there has been a breach of the Code of Ethics, it may impose such a
       penalty as it considers to be appropriate, including without limitation:
       (a) a reprimand;
       (b) a monetary fine (payable at such time/s as the Disciplinary Committee may determine);
       (c) withdrawal or withholding of any award or ribbon;
       (d) disqualification in respect of any class;
       (e) expulsion from the Showground;
       (f) where the person concerned is a member, a suspension or termination of that membership;
       (g) a ban;
       (h) exclusion;
       (i) prohibiting a Person from exhibiting or competing at the current Show or at any future Show;
       (j) a direction that an Exhibit be removed from the Showground;
       (k) any other mandatory requirement; and
       (l) any other penalty provided for in other regulations of The Gatton Show Society
   11. There shall be no appeal from any decision of the Disciplinary Committee and the Committee’s decision will be final.
   12. No person shall have any claim against the Association or against any Committee, member, employee or agent of the
       Association in respect of any act, matter or thing done in good faith during or in connection with the proceedings before
       the Disciplinary Committee.

                PRIZES will take the form of Money and or Vouchers and or Product to a minimum value of:
   Champions Classes Champion $125, Res Champion $75, Hon Mention $25, 1st Prize $50, 2nd Prize $30, 3rd Prize $20.
                   Any prize money will be paid in the name of the exhibitor on the entry form submitted

             We have been advised that the Guernsey Cattle Society's policy is to disallow the showing of
               first-cross Appendix (i.e. Appendix 3) cattle at all shows. Registrations of Guernsey cattle
            entered will be checked against the Guernsey Cattle Society database. This requirement will be
                         enforced from the 2017 show onwards unless we are otherwise advised.

DAIRY CATTLE YOUNG PARADERS COMPETITION
These competitions will take place on Thursday 16th July 2020 July commencing at 8:30am
CONDITIONS
The competition is for the purpose of educating and encouraging young dairy breeders, attendants and assistants
to parade exhibits before a Judge in the most efficient manner.
Competitors must lead heifers under the age of two years in this Competition. The animal need not be owned by
the parader but must be exhibited in at least one of the general classes. Entry forms are available from Qld Dairy
Showcase administration.

PRIZE MONEY – Prize money will be determined by the Showcase Committee

ENTRIES - Should be lodged with the Ring Stewards and close 15 minutes prior to scheduled competition time.
Entry forms are available from the Ring Stewards.

JUDGING DAY –
Points will be allocated for:

 This competition is conducted in conjunction with the Gatton Show Young Judges Competition with the Sub-
 Chamber winners being determined as the highest points scorer who is eligible for the competition and meets the
 Queensland Ag Shows eligibility criteria.
 Breeds to be advised on day of competition.
 2020 Winners will be held over to compete in the QCAS State Final in Brisbane in 2021

5.Gatton Show Society will operate its Show and all events in accordance with the Queensland Agricultural Shows and
Showgrounds Approved COVID Safe Industry Plan (the Plan) and it is a condition of entry that you agree to abide by the
requirements of the Plan, this includes but is not limited to instructions and space allocations. It is also recommended that you
provide your own seating as seats will not be provided this year.

+ Due to safety concerns exhibitors are requested NOT to use the old loading ramp near the Woodlands Road Gate
+ Due to COVID requirements no communal camping facilities will NOT be available and all exhibitors will be responsible for
organising their own requirements. Additional stalls will be allocated to enable exhibitors to comply with COVID requirements
particularly physical distancing. Exhibitors are also advised to expect some operational changes to be made to facilitate COVID
compliance.

    -    Ayrshire will follow in the Holstein Ring and Brown Swiss will follow in the Guernsey Ring. Ayrshire and Brown Swiss
         judging commencement times will be determined in concunction with breed exhibitors (as determined and advised by
         the Stewards) to commence as soon as practicable after the breed that they are following.

    -    All cattle MUST be on the grounds NO LATER than 9am Tuesday 13th July 2021

    -    Supreme Judging to be judged Wednesday 14th July 2021, commencing 15 minutes after the last breed class is
         completed

    -    Late Entries will be Accepted up until Friday 2nd July 2021 with a penalty that the Late Entry Fee: $36.00 per entry
         PLUS $20.00 per animal for bedding (non-refundable) for any entries received after Friday 18th June 2021.
         Absolutely NO entries will be accepted after Friday 2nd July 2021.

    -    Johnes Disease Dairy Score (JDDS)
         The scoring system for managing JD in dairy cattle was simplified in early 2019 and is called Johnes Disease Dairy
         Score.
         Dairy cattle with a Johnes Disease Dairy Score of JDDS7 or JDDS8 is the standard set by Gatton Show Society for
         dairy cattle to be permitted onto Gatton Showgrounds.

    -    Lactation Records approved by a Breed Society will also be accepted.

    -    Any exhibitors/competitors intending to bring electrical equipment to the Showgrounds will be required to ensure that
         such equipment is fitted with residual current protection and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been
         inspected by a licensed electrical contractor and currently tagged. The use of double adaptors is prohibited and all
         power boards must also be tested and tagged.

    -    A “No Smoking Policy” will be strictly adhered to and policed by exhibitors/competitors and exhibitors/competitors are
         advised that the use of Primus stoves, any heating or lighting appliances of a like character, or any naked light, is
         strictly prohibited in the pavilions.

    -    Expanded Youth Program including DAIRY YOUTH TEAM CHALLENGE (refer above)

    -    DAIRY CATTLE YOUNG JUDGES and PARADERS COMPETITIONS will take place on Thursday 16th July 2020
         July commencing at 8:30am
