Pensioner must hold a current valid Pensioner Concession Card or Queensland Repatriation Health Gold Card issued by Centrelink or the Department of Veteran Affairs. The Centrelink Health Care Card is NOT ACCEPTABLE for concessional entry. Seniors must hold a Seniors Card (from any State) to be eligible for concession entry. Senior Business Discount Cards and National Seniors Cards are NOT ACCEPTABLE for concessional entry.
GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND COMPETITION This Show is conducted subject to the rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies, the constitution and rules of this Society and any regulation which appears within the Schedule for individual sections of this Show. Should there be any conflict between the rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies, the constitution and rules of this society and the regulations appearing in any schedule, the constitution, rules and regulations appearing in the schedule of this Society shall prevail. All persons upon entering any class in this Schedule agree to indemnify the CAIRNS AGRICULTURAL PASTORAL AND MINING ASSOCIATION against liability for any accident, damage, loss or illness to any Exhibit, Exhibitor or Competitor and agree that all Competitions are under the complete and total control of the CAIRNS AGRICULTURAL PASTORAL AND MINING ASSOCIATION whose decision in all matters is final. THE CAIRNS AGRICULTURAL PASTORAL AND MINING ASSOCIATION a. Will appoint a Chief Steward to each section as its representative in all matters. Failure to comply with lawful directions from appointed Stewards, Committee or Staff or use of verbal or physical abuse will result in Disciplinary Action which may include exclusion from further Competitions and/or the Cairns Show Grounds. b. Will appoint Judges whose decisions are final and for which no verbal or written Communication will be accepted or entered into. c. Reserves the right to make any decisions, inclusions or changes to this Schedule including Conditions of Entry as it may deem fitting without further notice. d. By way of entering for this Competition exhibitors acknowledge that they are compliant with these Conditions. A Judge shall not have any information prior to or during judging at The Cairns Show 2019 other than what is provided by the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral and Mining Association. Vice Presidents cannot compete in sections under their control. ANIMAL/S AND BIRD/S EXHIBITORS • All animal/s and bird/s exhibitors must sign an Exhibit Health Declaration upon delivery of entry and must comply with the health requirements detailed in this document. • Exhibit Health Declarations are available from the Show Office or Website www.cairnsshow.com.au • All Veterinarian fees are the responsibility of the Owner of the animal. Cairns Show will not take responsibility for any veterinarian fees. Please note conditions of entry into grounds • No glass is to be brought onto the Grounds. • All electrical leads must be tagged in accordance with the relevant industrial regulations. • All dogs must be leashed. PRIZE MONEY Prize Money stated in the Schedule excludes GST. GST will be added to the Prize Money for Exhibitors who are registered for GST purposes. The Association will provide a “Recipient Created Tax Invoice” to Exhibitors who are registered for GST purposes. PRIVACY STATEMENT The information provided by you in any application for membership or application to enter is used by the Cairns Show Association (CSA) to offer member services or to organise and conduct competitions at the Cairns Show. By applying for membership or entering our competitions you consent to provide such details as your name, address and exhibit details. SPECIAL REGULATIONS IT IS REQUIRED THAT ALL COMPETITORS READ THE FOLLOWING THOROUGHLY 1. Refer to the General Conditions of Entry & Competition in front of schedule. 2. All horses in Ring No 1 MUST be registered with Equestrian Australia (Formally Equestrian Federation of Australia). Riders/owners MUST be members of the EA except in Junior Events. Jumping events are conducted under EA rules. Performance cards must be displayed before a horse is eligible to compete. 3. Horses competing in junior competitions are allowed to compete graded at the steward's discretion. 4. The age of all horses to be calculated from the 1st August. 5. Name of horse must be stated at the time of entry or nomination will not be accepted. 6. No horse will be permitted to commence unless entry fees are paid in full. 7. Horses must be free from hereditary unsoundness. 8. All competitors must report to Ring 1, 2, 3, 4 immediately when instructed to do so by the Call Steward or Ring Stewards. 9. Groom or others in charge of horse must obey orders of Stewards or be subjected to a fine or ejection from the grounds. 10. Adult rider is 18 years and over. Junior rider is 17 years and under. 11. No parent to enter the Judging Ring with junior competitors except in Special Class Pairs and Rider Classes under 7 years. 12. The Judge shall withhold awards where exhibits are not of sufficient merit especially in awarding Championship Prizes. 13. All horses entered in Led Classes which culminates with awarding Champion and Reserve for that particular breed must be registered in the Stud Book of the Breed recognised by the Royal National association. All exhibits in Led Classes to be led into the Ring unless otherwise stated. 14. Local shall mean:- A: as applying to horses - any horse which has been in the Cairns Shire for six (6) months or more, immediately preceding the forthcoming Show. B: as applying to residents - any person who has resided in the Cairns Shire for one year or more, immediately preceding the forthcoming Show. C: District - the district embraces all the territory north from Mackay and west to Mt Isa taking in the towns of Charters Towers, Hughenden, Julia Creek, Cloncurry and Mt Isa. 15. Local horses must be nominated, controlled, ridden and owned by a local resident. 16. Ponies/Galloways/Horses are subject to re-measurement by the Stewards if requested. 17. Pony Hack and Pony Hunter Hack over 12.2 hands and not exceeding 14 hands may be ridden by a juvenile or adult. 18. All small Pony Hacks and Hunter Pony Hacks 12.2 hands (127.5cm) and under to be ridden by a Juvenile rider under 17 years of age. 19. A person who has attained the age of twelve (12) may ride in the Open Hack ring. 20. In events restricted to children a copy of their Birth Certificate may be requested. Juniors and young riders should check their EA Rules and Regulations with regards to age, etc. Age to be as at the first day of the Show. 21. No substitution of a person or animal will be allowed without the permission of the Ring Committee. Any person or animal entered without permission will be disqualified. 22. Stallions are to be shown in appropriate bridles or halters or equipment authorised by the particular breed society. Stallions and mares in all Led in Classes must be three (3) years and over unless otherwise stated in schedule. Colts and fillies must be under three (3) years unless otherwise stated in a particular class number in this schedule. 23. All persons handling Stallions in Led classes must be over the age of 18 years 24. Stallions are not permitted in any Hack Events unless otherwise stated. Any stallion that, in the opinion of the Stewards, is considered to be uncontrollable will be asked to leave the Show Ring. 25. All Performance Cards must be handed into the Chief Ring Steward by 9.00 am on Wednesday morning.
26. Scratchings to be carried out before 9.00 am each day of Show with Chief Ring Steward. Scratchings will only be refunded upon written application which has been signed by the Chief Ring Steward. 27. Times for commencement of individual events listed in the schedule are listed as a general guide only. 28. Competitors nominated in two (2) rings where a time clash occurs must make a choice in which Ring they will compete. Approval to hold up a Ring will be at the direction of the Chief Steward. 29. All horses in ridden classes must be ridden on the circle to be eligible for the event. 30. Grand Parade - Friday 19th July. All competitors are requested to participate. 31. Cruelty or rapping will not be condoned and will be dealt with severely by the Ring Committee. 32. Any horse that is proving to be uncontrollable, in the opinion of the Chief Ring Steward, will be asked to leave the Show Ring and their nomination shall be cancelled. 33. Equestrian Helmets must be worn in compliance with the EA's acceptable standards as at day of competition-no bowlers or top hats allowed. 34. 'District' shall mean the EA registered address of the competitor. 35. All competitors must agree to abide by the Rules and Regulations set down for the conduct of official events as per those declared by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) and Equestrian Australia (EA) and the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association (CSA). 36. As a condition of entry into the above mentioned competition, competitors acknowledge that they ride at their own risk and that they are aware that activities involving horses can be hazardous and that the EA and the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association accepts no responsibility or liability for any injury or loss that competitors or their assistants might sustain as a direct or indirect consequence of the activities of the competition whether such injury is a consequence of any act or omission by the EA and/or the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association and/or their servants, agents representatives, or volunteers. On the basis of these conditions competitors and their assistants indemnify the EA and the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association against all liability (including liability for their negligence, competitors or their assistant negligence & the negligence of others) for all injury, loss or damage (including property damage) arising out of or in connection with a competitors participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law but only to the extent that they are not already indemnified or insured. 37. Competitors must declare that horses, saddlery and themselves are in sound condition and that they undertake this competition with knowledge of the physical demands that this competition requires. All competitors and assistants must consent to receiving any medical treatment, including ambulance transportation that the event organisers think desirable during or after the event. Competitors and their assistants acknowledge that the safety precautions undertaken by the event organisers (such as course inspection, pre-event safety briefings), are a service to themselves and other competitors but are not a guarantee of safety. 38. All competitors and their assistants will be required to read and sign the indemnity form. 39. Any protests will cost $A50, must be written and lodged with the Chief Steward no later than 30 minutes after that event has finished. 40. Any competitor failing to be present at presentations are not entitled to any prize money. 41. No Dogs allowed in Main Arena. 42. The Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association abides by EA Guidelines for Swabbing. 43. The Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association reserves the right to swab any horse for those substances prohibited by the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies and the Equestrian Federation of Australia. A. Any nominee, owner or person in charge of a horse shall present it for competition free of any prohibited substance. B. Where the nomination of a horse for an event has been accepted and prior to that event the nominee or person in charge of the horse is notified of an intention to take from the horse a sample, then it shall be deemed an offence for any reason for the connections to withdraw the horse from the event unless with permission from The Ringmaster. C. When a prohibited substance is found upon analysis to have been administered to a horse which has been presented for or competed in an event, the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association upon receipt of the analysis report shall officially notify the owner or nominee of the findings.
D. Any nominee, owner or person in charge of a horse which has been presented for or competed in an event and which has been found to have been administered a prohibited substance may be disqualified or suspended for such period as the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association thinks fit. E. Any horse which has been presented for or competed in an event and which is found to have been administered a prohibited substance shall be disqualified from the event and may be disqualified from competing in any further events for such period as the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association thinks fit. F. A swab sample shall only be taken by a veterinary surgeon authorised by the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association. G. All competitors indemnify Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association for any penalties imposed upon Cairns Agricultural Pastoral & Mining Association stemming from Equestrian competition should a positive swab occur. H. Competitors will be responsible for any costs associated with swabbing should a positive swab be returned. HANDY HINTS CAIRNS SHOW 2019 INDEMNITY FORM All competitors and their assistants are required to read and sign the indemnity form available from the Centre Ring Office. HORSE HEALTH DECLARATION FORM It is important that each person intending on bringing a horse to this upcoming competition fills out the Horse Health Declaration Form and hands to the Centre Ring Office. Horse Health Declaration Forms will be available from the Cairns Show Office, Show Website and from the Centre Ring Office during the Show. ENTRY CARDS Purchase entry cards from the Centre Ring Office during the Show. Entry cards must be purchased prior to competition in bulk form (e.g. if competitor intends to enter 14 classes - purchase 14 cards). When the respective class is called, the entry card is given to the Ring Steward. No Card - No Entry - No Excuses ENTRY WRISTBANDS Competitors entering on the day of the show will be allowed access via the Severin Street Gate, wristband passes will be issued at the Centre Ring Office upon purchase of Entry Cards for those that require them. The Severin Street Gate will be open from 6.30am. Competitors entry passes will be issued as followed. 1 horse = 1 pass 2 or 3 horses = 2 passes 4 or more horses = 3 passes Any other drivers or passengers in the vehicle will be required to pay entry fees or produce Membership / Pre-purchased passes to gate security at the time of entry. For those that have Pre nominated your passes and cards will be available for collection from the Severin Street Gate.
PRIZE MONEY The Ring Treasurer will pay Prize Money on completion of the Event from the Ring Office on production of an entry card signed by the Ring Steward or Judge. Prize Money is as stated. All Prize Money not collected during the Show will be forfeited. CAMPING Camping is under the strict control of the Camp Steward. Any person who fails to carry out the instructions of the Camp Steward will be dealt with severely by the Show Committee. Limited facilities are available in the Barlow Park area and camping is only permitted between 15th and 22nd July 2019, unless prior arrangements are made with the Show Office. To apply for camping, complete the official application form and forward to the Show Office with fees. You will receive a Camping Permit which must be affixed on the outside of the Camping Unit near main entry door. The Camp and Stable Stewards decisions are final. STABLING Stabling is under the strict control of the Stable Steward. Any person who fails to carry out the instructions of the Stable Steward will be dealt with severely by the Show Committee. There is limited stabling available. Preference will be given to competitors south of Gordonvale and north of Palm Cove. Limited undercover stables inside the grounds are available and competitors must supply own shavings or bedding hay. To apply, complete official application form and forward to Show office with fees. ACCESS & PARKING All vehicles except genuine camping vehicles for which a site has been allocated and fees paid MUST leave the Show grounds (including Barlow Park) by 8.30 am each day of the Cairns Show. Float parking is available along the Scott Street Fence as directed The ONLY exception to the above is competitors in Led/Ridden/Harness Classes on Wednesday who will be permitted to park floats on the southern end and sides of the arena but not on the grandstand end of the arena. Floats must be removed by the commencement of the afternoon general entertainment program or as directed by the Ring Master/Chief Ring Steward. BARLOW PARK ALL FLOATS OR VEHICLES WITHOUT AN OFFICIAL PERMIT WILL BE REMOVED WITHOUT EXCEPTION AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. ATTIRE All handlers and assistants must be suitably attired while in the Main Arena and judging rings. Judges and exhibitors to wear suitable hats when in the ring at all times. Shorts, singlets, thongs and similar attire will not be permitted. HOW TO ENTER 1. Fully complete the Official Entry Form (separate form for each Exhibitor - copy further forms if necessary or collect from Show Office alternatively enter online www.CairnsShow.com.au). 2. Equestrian & Dressage Entries will not be accepted over the phone. 3. Dispatch or deliver completed Entry Forms including fees applicable to: Cairns Show Association PO Box 811 BUNGALOW QLD 4870. 4. Competitors must report with Class Card to the designated Ring Steward by the due time and date. 5. Equestrian and Dressage Prize Money must be collected during the show. Prize cards, proof of identity or agent's authorisation are required to collect Prize Money.

RIDDEN SHOW HUNTER HACK CLASSES ATTIRE HACKING JACKET - Preferably tweed with acceptable colours being green, brown or blue tweed, the colour chosen to go well with the mount, plain navy and black are acceptable. Run under the rules of International Mounted Games. For these rules refer to the web site www.pcaq.asn.au This competition will be a teams event with 4 riders per team. Competitors who are not members of a prearranged team should speak with organising officials prior to this event starting to have themselves placed in a team of 4. Neither the organising Committee of any competition to which these rules apply nor the EA accepts any liability for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, grounds, spectators or any other person or property whatsoever. 2. Riders must be members of the FNEG, be full members of the EA to at least participative level or take a day membership of FNEG to compete. Day membership costs $35 per rider and covers one or two days of competition. 3. No phone entries or late entries will be accepted. There are no exceptions. Please use 1 entry form per rider. Please make sure your entry form is legible and clear. Waiver forms must be signed and submitted with your entries. Riders compete at their own risk and must abide by the competition rules of the EA and FNEG 4. Helmets are compulsory - use of helmets that conform to Australian Standard AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards) provided they are SAI Global marked. No refund on nomination fees will be given after the closing date unless a Vet's or Doctor's certifi- cate is produced. 30% of the nomination fee will be withheld by the club for administration. 6. Stabling/day yards are available on the competition grounds for horses competing on the day. Stables need to be booked by emailing the committee by Thursday before the competition. All horses staying overnight on the grounds must be Hendra vaccinated and certified up to date. 7. There will be one presentation of ribbons and prize money. with Show Officials and Sponsors in attendance after the last test on Sunday. 8. You will be sent a copy of the draw via email. Please check the draw for your task and please be on time for these tasks. If you do not receive a copy of the draw by Wednesday 10th July it is your responsibility to email the FNEG secretary fneg.info@gmail.com 9. All competitors are required to complete a gear check immediately prior to riding each test. 10. Copies of all tests are on the EA National Website - remember there are new Dressage tests in use for 2019 so make sure you learn the correct tests. 11. Cold drinks tea and coffee are available on the grounds. 12. Dogs are not allowed in the warm up or competition areas. No other animals are allowed onto the REA grounds AT ALL. 13. ENTRIES 1. Terms used in the program - CUR – Closed UnRestricted, CR – Closed Restricted, OC – Official Competitive, P – Participative, IQ – Inter School Queensland (ALL classes are included) Riders may not compete in Official and CUR/CR competitions on the same horse. 2. Only compete in two consecutive levels per event (regardless of number of days). Eg: Prepatory/Preliminary, Novice/Elementary, Elementary/Medium, Medium Advanced. 3. Nominations not to exceed a maximum of three tests per day, per horse/rider combination. 4. After the close of entries any change of rider must be notified, in writing, to the OC no later than 40 minutes prior to the start of the competition. However, a rider of a horse may not be changed if another rider has ridden the horse on the day, either in warm-up or in a competition. 5. One rider per horse, a horse cannot be substituted. 6. Junior riders (0 to16yrs) age as at 1st January 2019. Junior riders may enter one age group only. 7. Young Riders (12 years up to and including 21 years) age as at 1st January 2019. 8. Senior riders (17yrs onwards) age as at 1st January 2019. 9. All riders are required to help throughout the event; if no preference is nominated on the entry form then you will be allocated a job by the organising committee OFFICIAL COMPETITIONS 1. All Official EA competitions, with the exception of National and State Championships and Prix St Georges Challenge, are open to both horses and ponies. Any pony entries received shall be grouped at the beginning or the end of the draw (or at another time if the OC requires) and shall be scored as a separate competition to the horses in the rest of the test though separate prizes will not be awarded. 2. EA official riders must enter Official competitions at their graded level or above or ride HC in competitions below their level; however HC competitors will not be eligible for prize money. 3. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure the nominations are made correctly at the horses graded level at the time of entry close date. 4. Dress code as per EA current rules and regulations 5. Horses entered in official competitions must be: - registered with the EA and owned by a current financial EA member - have EA registration papers available on the day of event - have a current Dressage Performance Card (only available after date of third birthday – from date of birth) - must exceed 149cm with shoes or 148cm without shoes - Identification numbers must be worn on both sides of the horse either on the bridle or saddle cloth. 6. Riders may enter Official competition: - from the start of the calendar year they turn 12 years of age when riding horses - from the start of the calendar year they turn 10 years of age when riding ponies - provided they are a Junior or Senior financial member of the EA CUR and CR COMPETITIONS 1. No restriction on age for riders, no restriction on the height of the horse/pony 2. If a horse/pony is graded, it may only compete at its graded level or higher, or HC at a lower level 3. Dress code – sleeved shirts and tie, stock or Ratcatcher. Jackets are optional in hot weather.
