NFTE Entrepreneurship Pathway Through a project-based learning model, that relies heavily on lean startup practices and integrated digital tools, NFTE’s Pathway programs activate the entrepreneurial mindset through authentic experiential learning. Students create their own business idea, find a sustainable business model and pitch to a panel of expert judges. Students who complete Entrepreneurship 1 and 2 are prepared to take the Certiport Entrepreneurship and Small Business exam for certification. The NFTE curriculum is Certiport-recommended. 2
BizCamp At-A-Glance This out-of-school program, typically delivered during summer months, brings NFTE’s award- winning curriculum, activating students’ entrepreneurial mindset while they learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and create and pitch original business plans. Program Details Program Requirements and Recommendations • Grades 9-12 • Student application required; limited space available • Multi-week summer implementation; 60-80 hours of instruction (synchronous & asynchronous) Current scheduled for July 19th through August 6th Student Pitch Competition • Students create an original business plan, individually or with a partner. Students prepare and pitch for prize money. Instructor Information and Volunteer Support • This program is taught by senior educators from NFTE’s Entrepreneurial Teacher Corps. • Volunteer business plan coaches work with students throughout the camp to refine their business plans. • Expert judges provide feedback and evaluation during student business plan competitions. • Guest speakers provide a critical link to real-world business insights. 3

BizCamp Benefits NFTE New York Metro offers a summer experience that supports students who live in under resourced communities. The focus of this summer program is to provide a unique opportunity that allows students to create, stay engaged during the summer, and combat summer learning loss. The benefits of being involved in this experience last beyond the summer weeks The benefits for student participants includes: • Engage in a robust summer learning experience that elevates skills students can utilize immediately and, in the future. • Provide support with summer learning loss and the impact of COVID-19 by delivering a unique learning experience where students are leading and learning about entrepreneurship. • Participate in an end-of-summer pitch competition where students can showcase their ideas with their families, friends, volunteers, and community. • Enroll into NFTE’s Alumni Network where they gain access to internships, scholarships, networking opportunities, and more. 6

BizCamp Experience: $1K / student (30 student minimum) 40+ Hours of program content and full NFTE experience (guest speaker/panel events, business plan Curriculum coaching, pitch competition) Competition NFTE provides seed funding opportunities through its competition series Assessments Pre/Post Entrepreneurial Mindset Index and Program Diagnostic/Summative Platform Blended/Virtual Experience; Students and facilitators have access to Canvas, Zoom and Google Drive Volunteers Volunteers provided by NFTE Training Facilitator will be a trained NFTE teacher with support from NFTE program staff Support NFTE involved in recruitment, event planning, and implementation support Alumni Access to alumni network opportunities and benefits
