HUTT INTERMEDIATE WEEKLY TE KURA WAENGANUI O AWA KAIRANGI 12th November 2020 Principal’s Comment Kia ora Koutou We are heading into a busy time of the school year. Today we have had some of our contributing schools visit with our 2021 Year 7 students. The purpose of this visit is to begin their orientation into Hutt Intermediate. As usual our student tour guides did an amazing job of showing these children around and answering all their questions. The feedback we received from accompanying parents and teachers was nothing short of amazing. Well done to our students. Next week we have our Cultural Roadshow and the week after we have our Cultural Evening. Added to these events over the next few weeks’ classes are having their end of year trips and H6 and H9 will be going on camp due to Covid preventing them going in Term 1. A reminder that tomorrow is a teacher only day and the school will not be open for instruction. Students worked with The Shakespeare Globe Company NZ and schools from across Wellington, to create our version of The Comedy of Errors. On Tuesday, the groups came together for the final performance. It was a fantastic day as the rehearsals and hard work paid off. Congratulations to Kaylee Smith who danced in the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s production of Sleeping Beauty. Kaylee Well done all! played the role of ‘lilac fairy’ attendant at the Opera House Theatre.
Congratulations to our school bands - Interference, Unknown Noise and Exclamation Mark- who competed in Band Quest at the weekend. It was a great to see our students up on stage. Special mention to Max Phillips-Brown who won the Rock Solid Bassist Award.
