S1 Arrangements The S1 timetable has been organised into blocks of learning to make it easier for young people to manage their day and organise their learning for each subject. The timing of each block is aligned with the normal school day to allow pupils in school and at home to access learning at the same time. The majority of the lessons will be delivered virtually and the teacher will be online for the duration of the lesson. To access the lessons your child should log on to 'teams' and click on the subject that corresponds to the timetable. Full details for each lesson and video link will be displayed in the 'posts' tab. Your child may not currently have access to all of the teams but this will be in place by Monday. In some cases, the lesson will be pre-recorded or resources will be made available for pupils to access. We have tried to ensure that young people have adequate breaks throughout the day and have allocated a 15 minute interval between each teaching block. 3

Assessment arrangements update As a result of the Home Learning arrangements now in place for January, the planned assessment window that was due to open the Week beginning 25th January will be postponed until pupils return to school in person. The 6 week schedule itself will not change so our pupils will know the order that their assessments are due to take place in, however new dates will be issued to pupils when we return. There will understandably be a period of re-adjustment to in-school learning, therefore please be assured that there will be a period of two weeks when we return to school without any assessments. Learning Mentors Every child in S4-6 has been assigned a learning mentor. The learning mentors are all members of the school leadership team and will provide young people with support and guidance to help them progress their leraning and prepare for future assessments. All young people will be contacted by the 15th January either on Teams or via phonecall. We would encourage all young people to engage with their learning mentor, particularly during this lockdown period. 5
