Penny Longo (chairperson Social Ministry) Dear friends and members of Holy Trinity, Easter Sunday is now behind us, but the meaning of “new life”, both in the spiritual and the physical sense is ever with us. For 13 years your Social Ministry Committee has celebrated the arrival of new lives by sponsoring a BABY SHOWER BRUNCH. BABY ITEMS NEEDED (SIZES 0-24 MONTHS) This yearly event was for the INFANT LAYETTE PROGRAM at Lutheran Social Services in Uniondale. The only admission price? A brand new baby item. This Benefit resulted in white long sleeve onesies wipes hundreds of outfits and accessories being given and then donated to LSS. We are saddened cotton knit stretchies (NB to 9 mos) baby shampoo by the fact that we had to cancel this fun event this year and last. However, we cannot cancel outfits baby wash THE NEED. jackets Q tips In 2020, 130 Layettes were prepared and given to LOCAL families in need. In addition to numerous baby outfits, each mother receives a bag(s) filled with sheets, blankets, diapers, sweaters cotton balls soap, diapering creams etc. LSS also reaches out with other offers of assistance to help this sleepers diaper rash ointment person navigate through their difficult life circumstances. All recipients are referred to LSS sacks(cotton knit or fleece) diaper bags by a Social Worker, a Pastor or hospital personnel who are aware that a low income situation small cotton hats diapers(most needed NB and 4,5,6) exists.
