The Hempstead Church Family extends a very warm welcome to all our guests at our special Worship Service today. It is a wonderful privilege to assemble in the presence of God, and to give God thanks and praise for His goodness. We pray that your worship experience may be most meaningful and that you will find peace and joy in His presence. May each one find satisfaction in worship and may you be richly blessed. We enjoy your presence and invite you to come back and worship with us again. If you do not have a church home of your own, we invite you to consider joining the family here at the Hempstead Church. We especially welcome members of the National Association of the Prevention of Starvation – (NAPS) Have a Blessed, Holy and Happy Sabbath! sssssssss
“O Lord God,” I said, “I can’t do that! I’m far too young! I’m only a youth!” “Don’t say that,” He replied, “for you will go wherever I send you and speak whatever I tell you to. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I, the Lord, will be with you and see you through.” ~ Jeremiah 1:6-8 TLB. "In order that the work may go forward in all its branches, God calls for youthful vigor, zeal, and courage. He has chosen the youth to aid in the advancement of His cause. To plan with clear mind and execute with courageous hand demands fresh, uncrippled energies." ~ Evangelism, p. 476 With such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained, might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen, and soon-coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world! How soon might the end come,--the end of suffering and sorrow and sin! How soon, in place of a possession here, with its blight of sin and pain, our children might receive their inheritance where "the righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever"; where "the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick," and "the voice of weeping shall be no more heard."– "Counsels to Teachers, Parents, and Students," p. 555. "The Lord is calling for the youth, for He would make them His helpers to do good service under His banner." ~ The Adventist Home, p.358 "The church is languishing for the help of young men [and young women] who will bear a courageous testimony, who will with their ardent zeal stir up the sluggish energies of God’s people, and so increase the power of the Church in the world." ~ Messages to Young People, p. 25. "Preachers, or laymen advanced in years, cannot have one half the influence upon the young that the youth, devoted to God, can have upon their associates." ~ Testimonies for the Church Vol. 7, p. 204. "Educate the youth to help the youth; and in seeking to do this work each will gain experience that will qualify him to be a consecrated worker in a larger sphere." ~ Messages to Young People, p. 203. INVITATION TO WORSHIP Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; Let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS BELIEVE.... In a personal God. (Hebrews 1:1-3) In Jesus Christ, as the divine Son of God and as our Saviour. (John 1:1-3, 14; Hebrews 7:25) In the Holy Spirit, the divine Comforter. (John 15:26) In regeneration and the new birth, through the acceptance of the Gospel (John 3:1-7; II Corinthians 5:17) That the Bible is the inspired Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16, 17) That the second coming of Christ is very near. That it will be literal, personal and visible to all. ....( John 14:1-3, Acts 1:11; Matthew 24:30) That man by nature is mortal. (Job 4:17; I Timothy 6:15, 16) That immortality and eternal life are the gift of God and are received only through Christ. (Romans 6:23) That the dead are in an unconscious state (Eccles. 9:5; John 11:11-14) That there will be a resurrection of the dead. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17) That the wicked will not burn eternally, but will be burned up (Mal. 4:1-3) That righteousness comes by faith, not by works. (Rom. 4:3-5; Eph. 2:8, 9) That salvation comes as a gift of God and is not received through any merit of the sinners. (Ephesians 2:8) That the law of the ten commandments is the standard of righteousness by which all will be judged and which all Christians are commanded to obey. (James 2:10-12; Exodus 20:3-17) That the original seventh-day Sabbath has never been changed by divine authority and therefore all Christians are under obligation to keep it holy. (Genesis 2:2, 3; Luke 23:54-56) In the support of the gospel through tithes and offerings. (Leviticus 27:30, 32; Malachi 3:8-11, Matthew 23:23) In baptism by immersion. (Mark 1:9, 10; Romans 6:3-5) In the ordinances of Humility & the Lord’s Supper (John 13:4-17; I Corinthian 11:23-26) In the gifts of the Spirit, including the Spirit of prophecy. (Eph. 4:8, 11;Revelation 12:17; Revelation 19:10)
In discarding unhealthful practices, such as the use of intoxicants, tobacco, unclean meats, etc. (Proverbs 23:29-32; I Corinthians 3:16, 7; Deut 14:3-20; Isaiah 66:16:17) Marriage is one of the God-given institutions, dating from the Garden of Eden, before sin entered the world. The New Testament repeatedly affirms the sacredness of the marriage relationship (Gen. 2:21-24; Deut. 4:6-7; Matt.19:3-9; 1Cor. 6:9-11; Col.3:18-21; Heb.10:23-35; 1Peter 3.7 ) The Christian is called unto sanctification, and his/her life should be characterized by carefulness in deportment and modesty and simplicity in dress. (1 Thes. 3:13; 4:3&7; 1 Peter 2:21; 3:15; Isaiah 3:16-24; 1Cor. 10:31; 1Timothy 2:9&10 ) In the Christian life there is complete separation from worldly practices, such as card playing, theater going et cetera which tend to deaden and destroy the spiritual life. (2 Cor. 6:15-18; 1John 2:15-17; James 4:4; 2 Timothy 2:19-22; Eph. 5:8-11; Col. 3:5-10;) Through the study of the Word God speaks to us imparting light and strength; and through prayer the soul is united with God. Ps.19:7&8; 119:130; 55:17; John 6:63;17:17;1Peter 2:2;1Thes5:17; Luke 18:1;Isa.50:4.) Every church member is under sacred command from Jesus to use is/her talent in personal soul winning in helping to give the gospel to the world. (Matt. 25:14-29; Matt. 28:18-20; Rev. 22:17; Isa.43:10-12; 2 Cor. 5:17-20; Rom. 10:13-15; Matt. 24:14 ) The Bible teaches a definite church organization. The members of this organization are under definite obligation to be subject there unto' loyally to support it and to share in its maintenance (Matt 16:16-18; Eph. 1:10-23; 1Cor. 14:33,40; Titus 1:5-9; Matt.18:15-18; 1Cor. 12:12-28; 16:1-3; Heb. 10:25;Acts 4:32-35;6:1-7 ) Through Christ believers receive forgiveness of sins, which are forsaken and confessed and for which, as far as lies in their power, restitution is made. (Eph. 17; Col.1:14,15; 1John 1:7-9; Isa. 55:6&7; Eze. 33:15; Matt 5:23,24;6:14,15 ) In accordance with God's uniform dealing with mankind, warning them of coming events that will vitally affect their destiny. He has sent forth a proclamation of the approaching return of Christ. This preparatory message is symbolized by the three angels's messages of Revelation 14 and meets its fulfillment in the great Second Advent movement today. This has brought forth the remnant, or Seventh-day Adventist Church, keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. (Amos 3:7; Matt. 24:29-34; Rev. 14:6-10; Zeph. 3:13; Micah 4:7,8; Rev. 14:12; Rev.22:14.)
