Entry Classes

Class 1

Fit for A Queen~ Shades of White Handheld Bouquet Inspired by the Queens Coronation Bouquet

On foam, wired or tied designs acceptable

Maximum size 30cm width x 60cm depth. No height restriction

Class 2

The Next 70 Years

An arrangement of your choice

Maximum size of exhibit 40cm (16”) square

Class 3

A Hat for Royal Ascot

A hat decorated with plant material. Trimmings can be used.

The hat can be purchase

Maximum size of exhibit 50cm [20”]

Class 4

The Queen’s Tea Party

On foam your flowers and design in a teacup

Class 5

A Royal Picture

On foam, in a shallow container, natural floral and foliage materials should be used to create a
picture. Stones cork, bark and accessories may be used.

Maximum size of exhibit 60cm (24”) square
Class 6

Bee Friendly

A Growing Plant in a pot known to attract bees.

The name of the plant should be included on the exhibit.

Maximum size of exhibit 25cm (10") 25cm x 25cm (10”). No height restriction.

Vegetables and Fruit
Class 7

A Collection of 5 Mixed Vegetables arranged for effect

Exhibits should be shown in a shallow tray or trug.

Maximum size of exhibit 40cm [15”] Square

Class 8

A Collection of 5 Mixed Fruits arranged for effect

Exhibits should be shown in a shallow tray or trug

Maximum size of exhibit 38cm [15”] Square

Class 9

The Ugliest Vegetable

Exhibit should be shown in a shallow tray

Maximum size of exhibit 30cm [12”]

Class 10

A Collection of Growing Herbs

Exhibits should be shown in a suitable pot of your choice

Maximum diameter of pot 30cm [12”]. No height restriction
Young Exhibitors
Class 11 and Class 12 each have 3 competition levels based on the following age groups

Under 8, 8 to 11, 12 to 15

Class 11

Use your imagination and create your own miniature Garden. The arrangement of materials should
represent a garden when completed.

Pebbles, stones, miniature figures, etc. Can be used.

Exhibits should be shown in a suitable container

Maximum size of exhibit 30cm [12”] square

Class 12

Flowers in a Jam Jar

Arrange some pretty flowers and leaves in a jam jar with water. You can decorate the jar.
Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Flower Show Regulations
      1.    The judges' decisions shall be final.
      2.    Competitions open to amateurs only.
      3.    Entries must be made on or before Thursday 26th May, on the prescribed form.
      4.    Exhibits should be delivered to the marquee between 9 and 9.45am on Sunday the 5th of June
            in Cliff Park
      5.    Judging will take place between 10.00 and 11.00am and will be followed by the presentation
            of Winners Certificates and Young Exhibitors prizes.
      6.    Exhibits must be removed between 5:00 and 5:30 pm on Sunday 5th of June. Any exhibits not
            collected by 5.30 will be given away to continue to be enjoyed.
      7.    All exhibits to be viewed from the front and judged from the front unless otherwise stated.
            Nothing should be attached to the staging.
      8.    An exhibitor may enter one entry in each class.
      9.    Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis depending on the availability of
            space.
      10.   Classes may be amalgamated if there are insufficient entries for a particular group.
      11.   All exhibits and exhibitors' property will be at the risk of the exhibitor. The organisers or their
            agents cannot be held responsible in any way for any loss or damage sustained by the
            exhibitor.
      12.   Exhibitors’ cards will be checked by the Floral Art Co-ordinators when the exhibits are
            delivered to the marquee. These cards will be placed face down with the exhibit.
      13.   All exhibits must be the unaided work of the competitor and must be assembled prior to
            delivery to the marquee.
      14.   Aerosol sprays must not be used in the marquee.
      15.   There is an entry fee of 1 pound for all adult classes. The proceeds of the entry fees will be
            donated to the Mayors Charities.
      16.   All junior classes are free to enter.
      17.   Certificates will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all adult classes.
      18.   Certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and a Prize will be awarded to the winners in each age group
            exhibiting in Class 11 and Class 12.
