EMAP 2019 : EMAP: Ewha Media Art Presentation 2019, an international video art festival founded in 2001, is looking for video works to be shown at large sized open Ewha Media air screens at Ewha Woman's University garden in Seoul, Korea. The festival Art Presentation will be held in late May 2019. For EMAP, video art means the form of moving images including single channel media artwork, animation and music video. International Competition Artists from all over the globe are welcome to participate. The call for Submission Guidelines submissions is open for everyone. What counts is the artistic value of the artwork itself. If you think your artwork is good, submit it! Sections • Art: Video works, media performances, etc. (shorter than 40 minutes) • Animation: Animated feature films, animated short films, animated series, etc. • Music Video Requirements • Submit one (1) art work per artist or a team • Theme: Any • Year of production: works produced after the 1st of January 2018 Deadline • April 10, 2019 (Korea Standard Time 00:00) Awards • 10 works will be selected in each section, in total 30, and will be screened during EMAP 2019. • EMAP Prize: Final selection of 2 EMAP Prize from 30 selected works - EMAP Prize 1(Grand Prize): 2,000 USD and invitation to the Festival with around air ticket & accommodation(for only 1 artist/reside out of Korea) - EMAP Prize 2: 1,000 USD Notification of Results • Notification of results will be posted on the website (http://egmf.co.kr) on April 20, 2019, we will also notify you individually via email. (You should receive a copy of your submission to your email automatically. If you have not received a copy of your entry form within a few hours, please re-fill and send the form again.) • Note: All submitted videos are for festival Jury review purposes only. EMAP 2019 : Guidelines for Artists Ewha Media • If the film is not in Korean or in English, it must have Korean or English Art Presentation subtitles. Should the subtitles be missing when required, the film will automatically be excluded from the competition. International Competition • Music video related background music or video related background music: Submission Guidelines When selecting as winner, the exhibitor must acquire the screening rights so that there is no problem in the use of copyright. You can also use your own song. • One or two still images are required for marketing purposes. Submit it via email after you complete the application. Make sure the image is high/print quality. • No entry fee is required. EMAP does not commit to covering the travel costs for artists except for the EMAP 2019 1st Prize winner. Rules and Regulations Copyright and Treatment of submitted Works • The entrant must hold the copyright of the submitted work. If the work is entered by a representative, permission from the copyright holder is required. • Permission must be obtained from the copyright holder for the use of any art, film, photographs, video images, programs music or any other content used in the submitted work. The entrant takes sole responsibility for resolving any third party claims of infringement of rights and/or claim for damages. The organizer shall not be held accountable in the event of any dispute. • Depending on the form or type of work, it may be necessary to change the section in which the work has been submitted. • All expenses related to submission of works to the competition (for example delivery cost to the Festival Office) are borne by the entrant. • Submitted works and reference materials will be returned only in exceptional circumstances. • In the case of any accidental damage to or loss of submitted work, the organizer shall not hold any responsibility. • Depending on the screening process, additional materials may be required. • The EMAP Office shall provide no information about the screening process before or after the official announcement. • The copyright of submitted works shall remain with the entrant. • Submitted works and reference materials may be duplicated by the Secretariat. The use of such duplicated materials is limited to the purpose of jury screening. • The organizer may screen, publicly transmit (broadcast), duplicate, exhibit, translate, and/or publicize any works on its website, without any monetary compensation to the entrant. This is solely used for the purpose of announcing the results of the Award-winning Works and Jury Selections, exhibiting the Award-winning Works and Jury Selections and publicizing the EMAP 2019. • Works that are exhibited or introduced in the Exhibition of Award-winning Works of the EMAP 2019 will be documented in video and photographs. This documentation may be used for PR and related projects of the EMAP 2019.
EMAP 2019 : Regarding Personal Information Ewha Media EMAP 2019 Executive Committee shall make every reasonable effort to Art Presentation prevent disclosure, appropriation, and/or distortion of personal information by adhering to the following guidelines: International Competition Submission Guidelines 1. Use of Personal Information Personal information submitted by an entrant shall be used only for 1 Announcement of screening results 2 Contacting for enquiry about submitted works 3 Contacting about related events of EMAP 2019 4 Statistical analysis for improvement of the EMAP 2019 5 Public announcement of award winners to the media and on the website (the title of the work, winner’s name and affiliation, etc.). We will directly contact each winner to confirm this before making public announcement.) If personal information is required for use beyond the above reasons, the EMAP 2019 Office will contact the entrant for permission prior to use. 2. Disclosure to a Third Party Appropriate efforts shall be made to administer and protect an entrant’s personal information. This personal information shall not be disclosed to any third party without prior consent. In addition, such information shall only be disclosed to a third party when absolutely necessary for operation and management by the EMAP 2019 Secretariat. However, information may be disclosed when consent from the person concerned cannot be obtained, if such disclosure is necessary to protect human life or property or is required by law. 3. Entrants’ Obligation All entrants must read, understand, and accept the Entry Rules and Regulations before submitting work.
