COVID-19 Information: Winter 2021 • McGill has a dedicated website on COVID-19. We invite you to consult this website for up-to-date information on the impact of COVID-19 on McGill’s activities, such as course delivery and convocation. • Winter 2021 will begin as scheduled and will proceed remotely. While you may begin your courses online from outside of Canada without a valid CAQ and study permit, you should apply for your documents as soon as possible. Beginning online courses without a valid CAQ or study permit approval letter may have an impact on your eligibility for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and the length of the PGWP. You must have a valid CAQ and study permit to study in Canada once in-person instruction resumes. McGill needs a copy of your valid immigration documents on record throughout your registration at McGill. As a result, you may receive automated emails from McGill Legal Documents requesting a copy of your CAQ and study permit. • As this information is rapidly evolving, we invite you to consult our COVID-19 Updates website in order to have access to a list of official government resources and FAQs related to travel and applying for immigration documents. Note: This information is up to date as of November 5, 2020. Please check IRCC’s website for more up to date information.

What I wish I Had Known… “Your Hydro Bill is for electricity” “West side is more English and East side is more French” “Healthy McGill gives out lots of free stuff” “I wish I had put more effort into my studies in first year” “-I wish I had known that there are so many services available that help students succeed both academically and mentally/physically/emotionally etc.” “8:30 AM classes and consecutive classes with locations halfway across the campus is not so ideal” “I would encourage you to be open; be open to meet new people not only from your culture but from others as well because this is the opportunity of a lifetime” 32
