FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE TRAINING Beginner 1 This course is intended for people who have never studied French or people who have taken French in the past but have either forgotten most of it or have not studied or used it for several years. The course will introduce basic French pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Students will learn to understand and speak French in simple, everyday situations. Books: CARDINAL, Guylaine. FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE TRAINING Beginner 2 This course is intended for people with a basic knowledge of the French language. The course will review basic concepts and introduce a variety of vocabulary and grammatical structures, including past and future tenses, negation, questions and prepositions. FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE TRAINING Beginner 3 This course is intended for people with a basic knowledge of the French language and builds on the notions seen in the Beginner 2 course. The course will review the present, past and future tenses and introduce new concepts such as reflexive verbs and use of pronouns. Students will practice using the new vocabulary and grammatical structures in a variety of situations through role plays, games and other activities. Books: CARDINAL, Guylaine. FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE TRAINING Intermediate 1 This course is intended for people with a basic knowledge of the French language and who can understand and speak French in simple situations. Students will expand their vocabulary and be introduced to new verb tenses such as the "imparfait", the "futur simple" and the "subjonctif présent". The course will improve student's proficiency in understanding and speaking French through a combination of written and oral exercises, audiovisual material, games and more. FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE TRAINING Consolidation Grammar and Consolidation Course This course is designed to provide advanced students with a review of difficult grammatical notions and introduce them to new vocabulary and idiomatic expressions through the use of authentic material. The course will increase students' confidence in expressing their thoughts in French as well as understanding native speakers. Students will develop their written and oral competencies in a variety of situations and learn to use different registers appropriate to different contexts. Specific course objectives are developed based on the needs of the group.
