Guidance in St. David’s Holy Faith Secondary School, Greystones • Guidance classes within R.E. block • One-on-one meetings between Guidance Counsellor and student • C.A.O. information meeting with parents via zoom (mid-October 2020) • Assistance with SUSI grant applications, DARE, HEAR & C.A.O. options
Supplementary Access Routes • DARE • This is the disability access route to education • If awarded, DARE offers support in colleges and reduced points on C.A.O.offers • Apply by the 1st February 2020 • Documentation required and info available on www.accesscollege.ie

Covid-19 • Sixth Years have their tutorial classes, R.E. and most non-creative block classrooms (rooms 9, 19, 11 with excess rooms 26, 27, 28, 29) • Tutor classrooms are 9, 10, 11 • All student follow one-way system through the school • Sixth Years have lockers (80) spread over 7 separate zones within the school with 1.5 m or more distancing between each locker • Sixth Year toilets are in a separate block of the school - Engineering Block
• All students must wear face masks (black or navy) in school. Visors are permitted for some students • Sixth Year students are permitted to leave school during their lunch- time. They may remain in school during lunch but must stay in their base classroom • Sixth Year students may go to their locker and toilet during little break and return to their base classroom (this is to reduce mixing of different groupings • Assigned seating applies to all classes (facilitating traceability in the event of a confirmed covid-19 case)

School assessments & reporting • There will be no parent-teacher meetings during this academic year, 2020 - 2021 • You will be issued with three school reports on vsware (Friday, 23rd October 2020; Monday, 15th December 2020; after Mock assessments - approx. 26th March 2021) • Sixth Year assessments will take place: Friday, 20th - Friday, 27th 2020 (six days); Tuesday, 2nd February - Friday, 12th February 2021 and Leaving Certificate exams commence from Wednesday, 9th June 2021)
Leaving Certificate 2021 • Date for commencement is Wednesday, 9th June 2021 • Dates not issued yet for project, oral and practical work • L.C. orals (Gaeilge, Francais, Espanol) = April 2021 (provisional) • Write-ups (History, Geography, Politics & Society) = early April 2021 (provisional) • Project work: DCG (Now - January 2021), Construction (October 2020 - March 2021), Visual Art (January - March 2021) with stand alone projects in May 2021 (one day assessments) in Construction & Engineering

Pastoral Care • Overall responsibility for Sixth Year students • Regular assemblies with students (however, delivered to each base class rather than as a group together) • Liaising with you and senior school management • Mentoring programme
Behavioural Management • Ensures Sixth Year students comply with school policies on attendance, uniform, hair, jewellery and accessories • Lates (in conjunction with the Deputy Principal) • Academic tracking • ‘Student voice’ advocate • Regular contact and communication with you (parents & guardians)
Student Liaison Team • Applications completed for appointment of Head Girl, Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy • Interviews to take place on Thursday, 24th September 2020 • Announcement on Friday, 25th September 2020
