ARCHDIOCESAN LENTEN REGULATIONS “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16-17) Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence (refraining from meat) for all Catholics from age 14 onwards. Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence for those from the ages of 18-59. Fast means one full meal a day, with two smaller meals and nothing between meals (liquids are permitted). Abstinence means not eating meat. No Catholic will lightly excuse himself or herself from this obligation. We should strive to make all days of Lent a time of prayer and penance. Knights of Columbus Council 3511 2021 Winter Rosary Rally The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a Rosary Rally for our local first responders. All are welcome to join us in prayer on our journey during this event. Bring your rosaries and positive vibes! Please park at Eureka City Hall and meet at the Eureka Police Department.
