 - A community is a group of people who live in the same place like a
 town or neighbourhood.
 - People live in different types of communities including in cities or
 suburbs or in the country

Community Helpers: Neighbourhood helpers
 Parent/Carer Guide - Learning activities 
1 There are many different community helpers who work in a
 neighbourhood, including postmen and postwomen who deliver our mail;
 garbage collectors who collect our rubbish and even reporters who
 sometimes work in our community to give the news.

 1 In our community there is also food helpers, these are helpers who grow
 and prepare our food. This can include farmers, shop assistants, chefs
 and bakers.

 4 Help bake something in the kitchen e.g. cookies, bread, pizza
 - Find three items you will need (e.g. wooden spoon, bowl, ingredients)
 - Pour, stir or mix
 - Take a photo of your baking to share with your teacher
 - Indicate if it tasted yummy using your yes/no board

Community Helpers: Safety Helpers
 Parent/Carer Guide - Learning activities 
 1 Safety helpers in our community like firefighters, police and paramedics
 work to keep us safe. These helpers are very important.

 2 Read aloud
 Whose Hands Are These? – YouTube

 3 Using the templates create your own police badge. Trace or write your
 name, paint or colour in your own design

 4 Trace two circles onto green paper and two circles onto red paper using
 a bowl or round object. Or use stencils provided. Cut them out and glue
 or tape back to straw or popsicle stick.

 5 Grab your police hat and badge, role play being a police officer.
 Hold up the "GO" sign, yell "GO," and run around then hold up the
 “STOP” sign and yell “STOP” when you want them to stop.

 1 Health helpers is another group of community helpers who help keep us
 and our pets healthy. This includes doctors, nurses and dentists who help
 to keep us healthy and vets who look after our pets.

 5 Sensory activity: Using the tooth template practice brushing teeth
 (use an old toothbrush, tooth template, shaving cream; flour/water; white
 paint)
Help fix Bo the bear. Find and match the correct Band-Aid.
