This fee is the only amount you pay for the entire season. At Cockburn we do not add additional fees
during the season, for fundraising, wind-ups or umpires, this once off fee covers everything.
Important Information
PlayHQ has replaced MyNetball. You will need to create a new PlayHQ account in order to register.
• Fees are payable in full at time of registration. The club does not accept payment plans.
Unless full fees have been paid, the player is not covered by the Fremantle Netball Association
(FNA) Insurance Policy, therefore players who are not financial with the club will be ineligible
to trial. Complete your online registration via PlayHQ and paying in full using your debit /
credit card.
Kidsport Funding
• Enables eligible Western Australian children aged 5 to 18 years to participate in community
sport and recreation by offering them financial assistance of up to $150 per year towards club
fees.
• Families considering Kidsport must APPLY for their unique code PRIOR to registering on the
Cockburn Netball Club PlayHQ website, as you will require the code to be eligible for the
discount.

If you decide to withdraw after you have registered, you must apply via email to Paula Rubery
treasurer@cockburnnetballclub.net to see if you are eligible for a partial or any refund. The amount
refund is dependent of the timing of the withdrawal and if other fees and costs has been incurred. It
is important to note:
• Netball WA will not be issuing any refunds after the Club has commenced grading and trials.
• A portion of Cockburn Netball Club costs is non-refundable prior to team announcements.
• Once teams are announced there will be no refund from Cockburn Netball Club and Netball
WA.
• Members who withdraw after 30th April 2022 will not be entitled to any refund.

The online registration will be held in 3 stages as follows;
Stage 1; Returning Players 2021 season ONLY
Your online registration on or before Monday, 31 January 2022. After this date you will not be
guaranteed a place in a team and may be placed on a waiting list pending positions becoming
available.
• Online registrations are to be made via your PlayHQ account
• Your online registration requires full payment of fees using a credit/debit card, without full
payment you are not registered.
• Kidsport Applicants – Families considering Kidsport must APPLY for their unique code PRIOR
to registering on the Cockburn Netball Club PlayHQ website, as you will require the code to
be eligible for the discount.
Stage 2; New Member Registrations
Online Registrations for new members will be open Tuesday, 1 February 2022.
• Registration at this point does not guarantee placement at Cockburn Netball Club. Placement
is pending on positions available within an age group on or after the registration days.

GRADING AND TRIALS
Please note that Cockburn Netball Club is a grading, training and playing club and participation in the
Club’s grading trials are compulsory. The Club selects teams based on our grading process to establish
the number and composition of the teams to compete in the Fremantle Netball Association (FNA)
competition. Teams are not selected based on friendship or social groups. To ensure grading is
conducted fairly and effectively, and in the best interests of the club and its players, ALL JUNIOR
PLAYERS must trial in their own age group based upon date of birth.

Any player and/or parent needing trial information or are unable to attend their relevant grading trials

Trial details – 4 weeks of trials held on a Wednesday at Cockburn Netball Club Venue
Dates: 16 February 2022 – 9 March 2022
Days; Wednesday afternoons / evenings
Duration: 1 session per week for 4 weeks
Location: Cockburn Netball Club grounds, Bakers Square Mortlock St, Hamilton Hill.
On completion of trials teams will be announced electronically on Monday, 14 March 2022.

NetSetGO Players are not required to attend trials however our Set and GO players will be required to
participate in a 3 week skills and drills training session commencing Wednesday 23 February 2022.
This session is run by our NetSetGO Coaching Coordinators and assisted by the NSG coaches. Team
announcements for NetSetGO teams will be announced electronically on Monday, 14 March 2022.
Once a player is graded and the teams announced, the Club’s Policy is not to move the players to
another team, other than exceptional circumstances (eg where a player is seriously injured, and this
requires another player to be moved). Please review our club policy via our website
http://cockburnnetballclub.net/cncwp/ for all information relating to our Club Policy.
All teams are submitted to FNA with Cockburn’s grading request. The grade of the team is then
decided upon by FNA.

Coaches play an important role not only in sporting life, but also the everyday life of the players they
coach. They influence not only the development of netball skills and performance but the
development of our girls as people and their approach to other aspects of their life.
The Club and our Coaching Coordinators invites new and current coaches to apply for coaching roles
for all teams NetSetGO, Juniors and Seniors in Season 2022. We also welcome applications from older
junior and senior girls who may be interested in assisting with younger teams.
An annual application process is in place to;
• Ensure we have the best coaches for Cockburn Netball Club teams to develop our players in a
positive netball environment; and
• Enable all parents and interested parties have an opportunity to coach Cockburn Netball Club
teams.
Coaching Accreditation & Working With Children Check
All coaches must have completed (or be prepared to obtain before the commencement of the 2022
season) the approved Foundation Coach Accreditation Course which can be completed online by

Coaches must obtain a Working with Children Check if they are over 18 years old and not a parent.
This must be provided to the club prior to the season commencing. To complete the required WWC

The Cockburn Netball Club will reimburse your accreditation and WWC out of pocket expenses.

Coaches requiring any specialist sessions for teams during the year, please email
coaching@cockburnnetballclub.net and advise what skills or sessions you would like to have covered.
After we have received this information, we can appoint a specialist coach to attend your session with
the necessary skills and drills to run your session.

Cockburn Registration Pack 2022UMPIRING
The Cockburn Netball Club is required to provide an umpire for every game that the Club has a team
registered in at FNA.
Our fee structure accommodates the payment of an umpire for each junior game of the season, plus
senior and junior games during finals.
All seniors’ teams are required to arrange their own umpiring during the season and are required to
supply and pay for their own umpires throughout the season.
Our Umpiring Coordinator will attempt to arrange the rostering of paid umpires for each junior game.
In that case, the Umpiring Coordinator will insist on the assistance of players. Older players who would
like to begin umpiring are encouraged to apply. Club umpiring payments will be made at the end of
each round. To cover the anticipated umpires needed for club games per week, we encourage interest
from girls turning 14 years or older for inclusion in the availability register.

AGES BETWEEN 6 – 10 YEARS OLD
Fremantle Netball Association (FNA) is an accredited Suncorp NetSetGO centre. FNA invites Clubs to
register their NetSetGO teams to compete in the Winter Competition under the NetSetGO banner and
modified rules.
• NET (5/6 year-old Born 2017 - 2016); TRAINING ONLY
Subject to the number of player registration
o Training will commencement Wednesday, 8 June 2022 and concludes 24 August 2022.
This is a 10 week training only team and they do not compete in the FNA competition.

o FOCUS: Learning and acquisition of fundamental motor skills
• SET (7-8-year-old Born 2015-2014)
o Match play at FNA during the winter competition (15-week competition).

commencing at 4:30pm – 5:30pm at the Cockburn Netball Club grounds.

If your child is between 5 and 18 years and is named on a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner
Concession Card they may be eligible to receive up to $150 per calendar year towards club fees
for registered KidSport Clubs.
KidSport wants to help children experience the benefits of participating in club sport and connecting
with their community.
Follow these easy steps to assist in your registration;

3. Applications for a grant is once per calendar year and your application can commence from
the 1 January.
