HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP 21 - 26 JANUARY 2019 OTAKI - HOROWHENUA - NORTH ISLAND FOREST LAKES CHRISTIAN CAMP For more info - visit our website www.nzdeafcamp.co.nz
Welcome to your registration pack for 2019 High School Summer Camp Thanks to the generosity of the New Zealand Sign Language Board, we are again hosting another camp, but this time, at the beautiful location of Forest Lakes in Otaki. This letter provides information about the registration for the High School Summer Camp 2019 for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in New Zealand. You may or may not have been part of the 2018 summer camp in Palm Grove on the Kapiti Coast, but a few changes have been made as we start moving towards making the camp sustainable and open to an increased number of students. So, this year, each student will need to pay a camp registration fee of $100.00 and they will have to make their own travel arrangements to/from Wellington (or Otaki) at their own expense. We have set up a Hardship Fund to support a small number of students who live in rural areas far away from the nearest airport, or who have to catch more than one flight to get to Wellington, or whose family/whanau have limited financial means. We will not ask for bank statements, but for other evidence to support the application. For more information, see the Hardship Fund application form. Registration Registrations open on 25 June 2018 and close on 28 September 2018 (or earlier if the required number of paid registrations have been accepted) When we receive your completed and signed registration form, we will respond and send you an invoice with banking details to pay the camp registration fee. If you have submitted a hardship application, we will contact you to let you know we have received your registration, and we will be in touch within two weeks with our decision regarding your application. Your place on camp is not guaranteed unless your registration fee is paid (or hardship application approved) Travel to Camp As the travel is now the responsibility of the family/whanau, please refer to our Travel Information advisory sheet for ideas on options for travel to/from Wellington or Otaki. Thank you for your interest. We look forward to hosting another successful summer camp. Deaf Camp Committee 2018

Registration will be accepted and confirmed upon receipt of payment. If you register and apply for hardship funding we will acknowledge your application, and you should receive a decision on your hardship application within two weeks.
