This brochure is proudly supported by Chamber Music Adelaide (CMA), a South Australian organisation formed to support the vibrant community of chamber musicians we are fortunate to have in South Australia. The seven CMA supported ensembles, Adelaide Baroque, Ensemble Galante, the Firm, Kegelstatt Ensemble, Recitals Australia, the Soundstream Collective and Various People will present an array of diverse and engaging performances throughout the year. In addition, this brochure showcases the work of some of the many other groups and organisations dedicated to producing fine chamber music in and around Adelaide. We are fortunate in Adelaide to have such a variety of high quality concert performances available to us, and Chamber Music Adelaide is proud to be a central part of our vibrant musical life. Chamber Music Adelaide facilitates and supports its members in presenting high quality performances of chamber music, works to raise the profile of chamber music in South Australia, and advocates for growth in support of the continued performance of chamber music. Kegelstatt Ensemble 2015 is Kegelstatt’s tenth year of concert presentations. To mark this milestone, we invited our audiences to help curate the year’s programs, choosing their favourites from all our past concerts. Mailing list members took up this opportunity with great care and enthusiasm, and between us all we have arrived at a beautiful selection of music. Each concert will be presented in Adelaide and Melbourne, with Adelaide concerts as follows: The Divine Sunday 23rd August, 3.00pm Elder Hall, North Terrace, Adelaide Here we explore the music of composers who have yearned to break free of the formal boundaries inherent in western art music, turning instead to the exotic and the mystical for inspiration. They also portray the human need for order and structure, the need for a place to call home and a cultural heritage, and the universal desire to dance. Works by Mozart, Schnittke, Bartók & Penderecki. P: 0438 803 927 E: kegel@kegelstatt.com.au www.kegelstatt.com.au 13
