WELCOME! It is our pleasure to welcome you to the fourth Melbourne Guitar Festival. Each year the festival continues to grow and expand the audience for the classical guitar in Melbourne (and Australia!). This year we are proud to present more concerts than we have ever done in the history of the festival. Many of the faces presenting concerts will also be familiar to our audiences, with our largest contingent of Australian concert artists to date. We are extremely grateful for the continuing support of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (University of Melbourne) for kindly sponsoring this event and making available the historic Melba Hall to our audiences. Their support reaffirms their commitment to maintaining a classical guitar department of world calibre. This festival is the major event on the Melbourne Guitar Foundation’s annual calendar. We hope this is an opportunity for guitarists, students and general music lovers to come together and share a memorable weekend of celebrating everything the classical guitar has to offer. Amongst these events, we cordially invite you to the display room in Tallis Wing where you can find a wide selection of fine guitars and products on display from Doriean Guitars, Hans Music Spot Croydon, Paytons (Admira, Hannabach), Yamaha Music, Dynamic Music (Katoh), Dan Kellaway, Cary Pedicini, David Chin, Derek Pendavingh, Jayson Elazzi, Kim Lissarrague, Sean Langelier, Shane Briggs and Andrew Duganzich. Thank you for your support and we hope you have a wonderful MGF2018! Michael MacManus and Evan Hopkins, Melbourne Guitar Foundation www.MelbourneGuitarFoundation.com 2
