(855) YA-ANDALE (855) 922-6325 About The Campaig COVID-19 has disproportionately affected millions of Latinos throughout the state of California. A recent report by the Kaiser Family Foundation showed that despite being willing and eager to obtain a vaccine, Latino communities continue to face structural barriers to access vaccine appointments. One-third of unvaccinated Latinos (the highest proportion of any racial group) said they want the vaccine but have faced obstacles in getting vaccinated. Economic anxiety caused by the possibility of missing work, confusion about the price of the vaccine, and concern about being asked for citizenship papers have been real barriers. Campaign Goal All these reasons are why AltaMed launched ¡Ándale! ¿Qué Esperas? a multi-layered campaign to reach over 4.45 million Latinos through public education, and over 2.25 million Latinos via direct outreach in partnership with clinic partners in San Diego County, Orange County, Los Angeles County, Central Valley, and Northern California. The goal of ¡Ándale! ¿Qué Esperas? is to get 450,000 Latinos vaccinated in medically underserved areas of California through grassroots COVID-19 vaccine outreach, education, and support services, including a statewide call center. n
