Youth Sport Interscholastic CampsSports League Interscholastic League Sports: For further questions - Participants must be enrolled as an EGRMS student and are required to carry a 2.0 GPA per marking period. please call or email: - A current athletic physical must be on file with EGRMS dated on or after April 15 of the current school year. EGRMS Athletic Director - Transportation is not provided. Parents will need to car pool to away competitions. Shannyn Fasbender - All registration takes place at the Parks & Recreation Department. There will be separate boys and girls races and all athletes will run a 2 mile course. Meets will be on Tuesdays starting at 4:00pm and 4:15pm. Interscholastic Girls Volleyball 7th & 8th Grade Fall Season Teams will have a 10-12 game schedule and play against schools in the surrounding area as well as compete in inter-squad games. Depending on enrollment players will be placed onto specific teams based on their skill level. Weekday competition start times will vary between 4:00pm, 5:00pm and 6:00pm. Weekday practice times and days are to be determined by coaches after the evaluation dates. League Rules: Volleyball match will consist of (3) games to 21 and all players are guaranteed the equivalent of (1) game determined by the coach. Games Nights: Subject to change Mondays: A teams will play at 4:00pm or 4:15pm and B teams at 5:00pm or 5:15pm. Wednesdays: B teams will play at 4:00pm or 4:15pm and A teams at 5:00pm or 5:15pm. Evaluations: August 20 - 22. 7th grade evaluations are 3:15-4:35pm. 8th grade evaluations are 5:00-6:30pm. Evaluation Goal: To ensure that team placements are fairly and objectively determined. Youth Youth Youth Sports Camps Fall Sports Youth Football League Girls Basketball PK-2nd Grade 3rd-6th Grade This is a fun introductory program for Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd graders. This form must be filed with our department and once received it is kept on file for the duration of participation or until age 18 for each family member. Forms can be found at our city website (www.eastgr.org) and can easily be submitted electronically to our office. We also have blank forms at the Recreation Department front counter for your convenience. All Parks & Recreation Department coaches are required to participate in Concussion training. Youth EGRASport WavesCamps EGRA Waves 2018 Come and make Waves with our program! We are a local based swim club that provides opportunities to swimmers and parents of all levels and commitment. We are open to East Grand Rapids residents and surrounding communities. Through competitive swimming, we teach kids about having fun, dedication, sportsmanship, and work ethic. Many of our swimmers go on to the high school swim team, other sports, and the collegiate swimming level. Our swim season runs April 10, 2018 - July 20, 2018 (July 27 for Senior). A spring only option is available for several groups. The Waves offer competitive opportunities for swimmers of all abilities. We compete in both West Michigan Swim League (WMSL) and USA meets. All Waves swimmers are registered with USA Swimming. We have something for swimmers of all abilities. They will practice with swimmers of similar ability. Practices are held at East Grand Rapids High School, Wealthy Pool, Calvin College (Long Course) and Jenison High School (Long Course).
