Facility Rental Information Looking for a fun place to host your next event or birthday party? Rent a room or host a party at the Broadview Heights Rec reation Cen- ter! For more information please contact the Recreation Manager at 440 -717-4019 or Rmeyer@bhrec.org. RESERVATIONS/APPROVAL: Renters must fill out a Facility Rental Contract at least two weeks prior to date requested. Applications are available online at www.bhrec.org and emailed to Rmeyer@bhrec.org. You will be notified by phone when the application is app roved. Payment for rentals can be made upon approval and is due at least one week prior to your scheduled rental. Rentals are subje ct to availa- bility. Recreation Department activities have priority in scheduling over rentals. The Recreation Department reserves the r ight to reject any rental for any reason. EQUIPMENT: Rentals include table and chair set -up by our staff except in gym A or B & group exercise spaces. Additional $50 flat rate charge for table and chair rental in Auxiliary Gym. SET UP/CLEAN UP: Renters are permitted 15 minutes prior to the rental start time for set -up and 15 minutes after the rental end time for clean-up. There is no set-up and clean up time allotted for gym or group exercise room rentals. Clean up is the responsibility of the renter including: removal of all decorations, debris, food, etc. from the tables, chairs, counters, and floors. No tape or tacks pe rmitted. All items brought in by renter must be removed or discarded at the end of the rental period. The rented facility must be returned to t he condition it was in prior to the rental or you may be held responsible for additional cleaning charges or damages. FOOD & BEVERAGES: You are w elcome to bring in food and NON -ALCOHOLIC beverages. RATES: All rentals w ill be charged at the established rates. NO exceptions will be made. Rates listed are per hour. There is a minimum of 2 rental hours per contract. For the resident rate, you must show proof of residency. For more information, please see o ur membership policy regarding proof of residency. Member Rate: For private events/personal use by Members. Resident/Non-Resident and Non-Profit: For private events/personal use by residents/non -residents or non-profit group events with a 501C3. For Profit/Group Event Rate: For all group events in which the group does not have a 501C3. AFTER HOUR RENTALS: After-hour rental rate is 1.5 times the regular rental rate. PAYMENT TERMS: Full payment is due at least one week prior to the rental or the reservation will be cancelled. Cash, check, Visa, Mas- terCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted. Make checks payable to the City of Broadview Heights. Payment can be m ade online at www.bhrec.org. CANCELLATIONS/CHANGES: Must be made at least one week prior to the scheduled date of event. Cancellations made less than one week prior to the scheduled event will not be granted a refund. Any changes to the Facility Rental Contract must be approved at least one week prior to the rental. * SWIMMERS POLICY: Children under age 7 must be accompanied in the water by an adult. * BROADVIEW CENTER PAVILION: The Broadview Center Pavilion rental does not include kitchen access. This pavilion is not rent able Memorial Day through Labor Day. Fields pavilion is rentable all year round. The breakfast will feature pancakes, sausages and Juice. The cost of the breakfast is $8 per person. Special Events/Activities BROADVIEW HEIGHTS MAYOR ALAI’S 5K AND 1 MILE WALK/RUN & PANCAKE BREAKFAST Sunday, July 11th, 2021 Place: This is a special event for the whole family in conjunction with the Broadview Heights “Home Days on the Green”. Race begins and ends at the Broadview Heights Communi- ty and Recreation Center: 9543 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, OH 44147. Re- freshments of fruit and water will be available at the finish line. First 200 registered runners/walkers get a race day t shirt. Time: 7:30 a.m. - Race-day registration 8:30 a.m. - 5K Run (B-tag chip timing, 3.1 miles) and 1 Mile Walk/Run Fees: 5K Run: $25 on or before July 10 or $30 on race day. 1 Mile Walk: $20 on or before July 10 or $25 on race day. Family Rate: $23/person for the 5K and $18/person for the 1 Mile. Must be three or more people living at the same address. Register: Online at www.hermescleveland.com until Friday, July 9th at 9 am. Awards: Top overall male & female as well as 5K racers finishing in the top three in each age group. Age groups (male & female): 10 & under, 11 -14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35- 39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 & over. All 5K participants 10 & under will receive participation medals. Pancake Breakfast Information: The Broadview Heights Community Pancake Breakfast will be held in our auxiliary gymnasium the morning of the race from 9AM un til 11AM. The breakfast will feature pancakes, sausages and Juice. The cost of the breakfast is $8 per person. All registered race partici- pants receive a free ticket to the breakfast. If you are not participating in the race, pancake breakfast tickets can be purc hased online at www.bhrec.org. 8
Youth Camps/Classes Children’s Enrichment Programs Youth Golf Etiquette Class Youth Golf Lessons for kids ages 7-16 will be held at the Broadview Instructor: Kim Franz - The Etiquette Factory Heights Indoor Golf Simulator at the Community and Recreation Certified Children’s Etiquette & Manners Instructor Center. Youth Sports Our Program Philosophy Our recreational youth sports programs are provided to give kids of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to have fun, ma ke friends, be active and learn about the many benefits of participating in youth sports in a safe and positive environment. All of our act ivities, rules, policies and actions must be consistent with our program philosophy. Registration Information Players registering for athletic programs during the published registration period are guaranteed placement on a team. Playe rs attempt- ing to register after the published registration period will be placed on a wait list and are not guaranteed placement on a t eam. Wait list players will only be assigned to teams if space is available after teams have been formed. It is important that players regi ster prior to the registration deadline. See the registration dates below for program specific deadlines. A late registration fee will be app lied to all late registrations that are accepted. The amount of the fee will be determined by the program and the age group. League Change Requests Players wishing to play in a league other than the one indicated by their age MUST submit a league change request form prior to the pub- lished registration deadline. League changes are NOT guaranteed and players registering in their age appropriate league will be given priority. The primary consideration involved in accepting or denying a league change request will be the skill level of the player. To play with friends/neighbors, to share rides or to play with siblings are NOT valid reasons for a league change approval. If the r equest is de- nied, a refund request form will be accepted providing the registration took place prior to the registration deadline. Leagu e change forms and refund request forms available online at www.bhrec.org. Special Request and Team Placement Players may request to play with up to two other players on the same team. If possible we will accommodate requests however they are NOT guaranteed. The primary consideration in the creation of teams is to create teams of relatively equal strength. Playing with friends is secondary. No refunds will be offered if your special request is not granted. Requests to play with a specific coach will NOT be consid- ered during the creation of teams. Potential practice day conflicts MUST be listed on the registration form. Coaches choose practice days and times after teams are formed possibly requiring a move to a different team to avoid conflict. Code of Conduct and Zero Tolerance Policies The City of Broadview Heights Parks and Recreation Department manages one of the largest youth sports programs in the area wi th nearly 3000 participants each year in our baseball, softball, basketball and soccer programs. In addition, we count on hundreds of volunteer coaches to help us organize and run the programs for the enjoyment of the kids in our community. In order to maintain the qua lity and integrity of our programs, support our staff and volunteers and assure that all participants have an enjoyable and positive e xperience, we have adopted a code of conduct and zero tolerance policy that applies to all participants, parents and coaches involved in ou r programs. By participating in any of our programs, you are agreeing to abide by our code of conduct and are subject to the terms of our zero toler- ance policy.
