Holiday Road “Are we there yet?” I know I annoyed the heck out of my parents asking. But at 8 years old, I hadn’t bargained for the excruciating amount of time sitting in the back seat of our version of the Family Truckster… a rusty late 60’s Delta 88. As we crawled north to the Apostle Islands for vacation, I became keenly aware I was teetering on sanity. Holiday Road. 2020, COVID turned us all into preadolescent children, buckled us in the backseat, pestering Dr. Fauci over and over, “Are we there yet?” And bless him for his calm and grace, any parent would have been justified by pulling the car over and strapping us to the roof. BUT, good news – we’re (almost) there! We’re now at a point where we can take a REAL summer Chuck Thiesenhusen vacation. So, load up your kids in your Truckster and just smile when they ask, “How much Recreation Director further?” cathiesenhusen Lindsey Buckingham had it right, “it’s a long way down the Holiday Road.” What a journey it’s been. @bigfoot.k12.wi.us Have a great summer, and I hope to see you at the next program.
