Please be seated SERMON Pastor Jessica King Please stand as you are able HYMN OF THE DAY I LOVE TO TELL THE STORY RED HYMNAL 661 APOSTLES’ CREED Together let us confess our faith. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Please be seated JOYS & CONCERNS PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION …Lord in your mercy, … and all God’s children say, Hear our prayer. Amen. PEACE The peace of Christ be with you always. And also with you. OFFERING & ANNOUNCEMENTS Meal Please stand as you are able CONFESSION Drawn to Christ and seeking God’s abundance, let us confess our sin as we gather around the Lord’s table to share in his Holy Meal. (silence is kept for reflection) Gracious God, have mercy on us. In your compassion forgive us our sins, known and unknown, things done and left undone. Uphold us by your Spirit so that we may live and serve you in newness of life, to the honor and glory of your holy name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen FORGIVENESS & WORDS OF INSTITUTION Almighty God, through Jesus Christ, your beloved Son, whom you sent to save and redeem us has mercy upon us and + forgives us all of our sins.
Holy God, you alone are holy, you alone are God. The universe declares your praise: beyond the stars; beneath the sea; within each cell; with every breath. We praise you. Generations bless your faithfulness: through the water; by night and day; across the wilderness; out of exile; into the future. We bless you. We give you thanks for your dear Son: at the heart of human life; near to those who suffer; beside the sinner; among the poor; with us now. We thank you. In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me. Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me. Remembering his love for us on the way, at the table, and to the end, we proclaim the mystery of faith: C: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. We pray for the gift of your Spirit: in our gathering; within this meal; among your people; throughout the world. Blessing, praise, and thanks to you, holy God, through Christ Jesus, by your Spirit, in your church, without end. Amen LORD’S PRAYER Lord remember us in your kingdom, and teach us to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. Please be seated INVITATION & DISTRIBUTION OF COMMUNION Christ has set the table with more than enough for all. Come! Brothers & Sisters in Christ- We rejoice that the end of this pandemic is in sight and what that means for us as a congregation and our life together. We give thanks to God for this good news and the hope and relief it brings to all. Additionally we thank you for your continued support of Faith throughout this pandemic as you adhered to the recommendations we put in place, showed love and care to all our neighbors, and embraced yet another new way of being church together. On June 16, 2021 the Church Council met and discussed our COVID-19 protocols in light of the changes with vaccination rates, viral transmission cases, and positive test rates within our county and congregation. Since virus levels are trending low and within our congregation we are over 75% and nearing 80% vaccinated the Council has approved a new COVID-19 policy. Beginning July 1, 2021 masks are recommended while inside the church building. With this new policy we do encourage you to: - keep physical distance of at least 3 feet. if this cannot be maintained please put on a mask - use disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer to help control the spread throughout our space - consider continuing to wear masks out of loving care for those who are unable to be vaccinated (children and those with health issues), those who have chosen not to be vaccinated, as well as those who are not yet comfortable without wearing a mask - treat one another with respect regardless of your stance on vaccinations both in speech and physical interactions We acknowledge and understand that not everyone may be comfortable with this new policy and we remind you that we will continue to provide options to you for worship both in-person and through live-stream. Throughout the summer we have two opportunities for in-person worship- 8:00 am Outdoors and 9:30 am Indoors. The 9:30 am service will be live-streamed. Together with you in Faith+ Pastor Jes & the members of Church Council
