ANNOUNCEMENTS SERVE IN THE CELEBRATION OF HOPE MAY 19, 10.30AM RALLY VOLUNTEERS In May, hundreds of churches will come together in unity to put together the CELEBRATION OF HOPE, a 3-day evangelistic event of personal evangelism on a mass scale. To make the COH happen, thousands of volunteers are required over the 3 days. A BBTC core value is that we recognise we are part of the larger church kingdom in Singapore. BBTC has agreed to help provide volunteers for the Sunday, May 19, 10.30am rally, in the following roles: 1. COUNSELLORS Volunteers will take the cue from the main evangelist (Canon J.John) once the Gospel call is made. They will take down respondent’s details, walk through the basics of the faith, and pray for respondents upon request. Training will be provided before the COH. Numbers needed: Up to 1,000. 2. USHERS Volunteers will be situated in the stands to provide help, directions and manage crowd traffic to event attendees. Volunteers should be friendly, welcoming, and be happy to interact with the crowds. Volunteers will be briefed on-site prior to the event. Numbers needed: 260. 3. SAFETY & SECURITY Volunteers will rove the stands in small teams of 3, helping to manage any heated situations or arguments that might arise in the stands. Please note that this role does NOT involve physical intervention – Sports Hub security staff will step in should any physical altercations take place. Volunteers should be of a friendly disposition, ready to defuse any awkward situations. Volunteers will be briefed on-site prior to the event. Numbers needed: 50. Sunday May 19 English Worship services at BBTC will be cancelled to encourage members to sign up as volunteers for the 10.30am rally. There will be no 1st service and 2nd service, children’s church, or Filipino Worship in BBTC on May 19. As mobilisation and coordination will be by tribes, only BBTCians belonging to a cell group are eligible to serve as rally volunteers. ANNOUNCEMENTS TESTIMONY STREET EVANGELISM MINISTRY Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20 Matthew 28:18-20 was very meaningful to me when I read it for the first time after I had accepted Jesus Christ into my life in 2018. After having a few encounters with the Holy Spirit, I was thinking of sharing the gospel with my family members but did not know how to do so. I was told of a new ministry in Street Evangelism. I practically came into the ministry by faith! I did not know what to do or what training was in store for me. But our God is kind and loving! He slowly unpacked his plans and over time I became more and more confident to share the gospel as I overcame many of my fears. The whole experience so far has been very enriching. Through the leadership and training of Pastor Ernest, we grew more confident and I could feel that the Lord is with me. I started to receive new revelation of what it means to put my faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. This has strengthened my walk with God. I also got to know more brothers and sisters with a common purpose and learnt in-depth knowledge on how to share the gospel effectively. If you are like me, looking to be equipped to share the gospel or searching for areas to serve, what better way to do so then through the Street Evangelism Ministry? If you are interested to join the Street Evangelism Ministry or if you need help to reach your oikos for Jesus, contact Ps Ernest at 66450700 or email ernest@bbtc.com.sg.
