PRAYER FOR REFLECTION Amanda Segale

One God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, inspire us to reach across our artificial
boundaries to grasp the hands of our sisters and brothers in the unity of our faith. Protect
us from elevating cultural, sociological, and religious differences above what unites us in
Christ.
Help us not to confuse unity with uniformity. Challenge us to celebrate our
distinct gifts with hospitality to those whose gifts are different than our own.
Help us to see in each other’s faces the sinner whom Christ came to save. In the
unity of Christ’s Spirit, may we sing together our songs of thanksgiving and tell of your
wondrous deeds!

*PROCESSIONAL HYMN No. 14 Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee

CALL TO WORSHIP (based on Philippians 3:12b) Amanda Segale

Leader: Christ Jesus has made us his own!
People: The news is good! We join in grateful worship.
Leader: Christ Jesus has made us his own!
People: The meal is ready! He invites us to come and share.
Leader: Christ Jesus has made us his own!
People: His gift is peace- with God and with each other!
All: Together, let us worship God with joy!

SPECIAL MUSIC The Ebenezer Wesleyan Choir

Pour Le Don D’Emmanuel (For the Gift of Emmanuel)
Seigneur Que N’ai- Je (Lord, What I Have)
CONFESSION OF SIN (unison)

How great is your love, Lord God; how wide is your mercy! Though you are
three, you are also one, a unity of self-giving love. Yet we mar your unity through
our denominational and sociological divisions.
You call your church to be one, but we board up the narrow gate that leads
to life with human rules and doctrines. You give us a Spirit to welcome all people
with affection, but we in your church exclude your secret friends.
Forgive us that in excluding those whom you welcome, we exclude you.
Forgive us for failing to love others with the love with which you loved us. Come to
us now, we pray, and lead us into life.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

RESPONSE Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the
beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

SHARING OF THE PEACE
Pastor Fred: Because we know God’s grace through Jesus Christ, we know God’s
peace. As a sign of God’s grace, we share peace with one another.
Pastor Rochemond: The Peace of Christ be with you.
People: And also with you.
(The people will share signs of peace with one another)

THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER

EUCHARISTIC LITANY

      Leader: God be with you.

People: We lift them to the Lord.

Leader: Great and wonderful are your deeds O God Almighty. Just and
true are your ways, O Ruler of the ages. We give you thanks, for
you have created all things, and by your will they exist. You have
delivered your people from bondage, and you have given to us
Jesus Christ, Lamb of God, Savior of the world, who has won for
us the victory over sin and death and all evil.
People: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of love and majesty.
The whole universe speaks of your majesty, O God Most High.
Leader: Glory be to you, O Christ, for you were slain, and by your blood
you ransomed for God people from every tribe, tongue, people and
nation and made them a nation of priests to serve our God.
People: The Lamb who was slain is worthy to receive power, wisdom
and might; honor, glory and blessing.
      All:        Spirit of God, touch our lives deeply, and make us truly yours;
and bless these gifts of bread and wine. O Living Christ,
bright morning star of this darkened world, come and be our
guest. Name us, mark us, and claim us as your own. Free us
from bondage to the powers of this world. Glory be to you!
                  Amen.
