Welcome Back! We are looking forward to welcoming the children back to school this term and have produced this booklet to give you further information about the school day and help you feel prepared. The transition from home back to school is an exciting but big change for the children. We understand this and will do everything we can to make the transition as easy as possible. There are some things, which you can do to help: Be positive about returning to school. Your feelings will guide your child’s emotions. Reassure your child and help them to look forward to it. You might like to share some of the photographs in this booklet and explain how things will work because to maintain a safe environment for children, staff and parents we have put the following systems in place. Morning Drop Off We will block the entrance to the staff car park during drop off and pick up, and be there to help guide you. No parents will be able to access school beyond this point. We encourage everyone to use our meet and greet service, this will operate in the bus zone because it is closest to the school steps. If you are using meet and greet, please make sure your child is sat on the school side so that they are not getting out of the car, in to the middle of the road. The children, or parent will need to open the car door themselves. Saying goodbye at school may be very emotional for you. But try to send your child off with a smile and a wave, along with the reassurance that you'll be there to collect them later. Please make sure your goodbye is loving but brief. Sutton Veny staff will be there to welcome the children and lead them to the different entrances. Timings 8:45am: Year 6 will use meet and greet at 8:45am and walk up the path to their fire exit, via the gate. Parents, please do not arrive before this time (and if you do please park up and stay in your car with your child). 9:00am: Year 1 will enter school via the steps, or use the meet and greet drop off. Staff will supervise and will only allow one car or parent to drop off at a time. 9:15am: FS2 will also enter school via the steps, or use the meet and greet drop off. Staff will supervise and will only allow one car or parent to drop off at a time. Key Worker children will arrive at either 8:45am, 9:00am or 9:15am – as arranged with parents Left: Year 6 entrance Right: FS2 and Year 1 entrance
Home time Parents will need to park alongside the school fence as close to their allocated home time as possible, facing down the village towards Duck Street. Staff will bring the children out to the fence and they will line up by a star! Each child will be brought to the gate when we see their parent. Parents, please stay in your car until you need to get out and help your child with their seatbelt. Parents will then need to drive down the village and turn around at Duck Street. Timings 2:45pm FS2 3:00pm Year 1 3:15pm Year 6 Key Worker children will leave at either 2:45pm, 3:00pm or 3:15pm – as arranged with parents. Left: Children will line up along the grass. Parents will park along the road, facing down the High Street but must stay in their cars. Right: The star will help the children see where to stand! Below: All of the children will come down these steps, when staff see you. (One at a time).

Playtimes and Lunchtimes The children will play and eat in their groups, in different locations and at staggered times. Sing Together (But Apart!)
