ISSUE 4 TRIASSIC MODEL WORKS CATALOGUE AUGUST 2007 PAGE 5 Gilpin Tramway Caboose. A caboose from the Gilpin 2 foot gauge tramway in Colorado. Modelled on caboose#400 which was built in 1912 as a replacement for an earlier caboose of the same number that had been destroyed earlier that year. The kit is built using a 1/8th plywood core, tabbed and slotted together with a 1/32nd inner layer. The outer layer is in 1/16th ply. Planking detail on both layers is engraved on using the laser. Although the Gilpin caboose is an American narrow gauge vehicle, it would suite many small British narrow gauge lines as a brake van. As it was a short wheelbase bogie caboose, the model will suite both 32 mm & 45 mm gauges. As with all our kits, this is for a body kit only. (Glazing is provided) The builder needs to provide wheels, bogies, couplings, end rails and other details to finish the kit. Size, 224mm long x 100mm wide, 16mm, 1.19 scale. Ref ,TM17 £40.
ISSUE 4 TRIASSIC MODEL WORKS CATALOGUE AUGUST 2007 PAGE 6 South African Bogie Coaches. A range of South African Railways bogie coaches, suitable for running behind the Accucraft class NG16 Garrett locomotives, But they would look just as good being hauled by any number of mid to large sized locomotives. As with all of our kits, the sides are built from layers of 1/16 and1/32nd plywood and good quality art card, with all the planking detail engraved both on the outside and inside of the car, along with laser cut glazing that is encapsulated within the body sides (no more slipped glazing) Floor and ends are cut from 1/8th plywood. A full underframe is supplied with alterative headstocks, depending which couplings you decide to use. We recom- mend using the Accucraft chopper couplings on this coach. Featured above is the four compartment first class coach ref TM21, also available is a five compartment third class coach ref TM20 and brake third coach Ref TM22. A first class corridor coach with lava- tory, Ref TM23 is in the development stage and should be ready for 2008. The coaches are all 400mm long apart from TM23 which will be 480mm long.
