Bienvenidos!

Thank you so much for joining us - virtually! - for our third annual Power of Language
event! While we wish we could all be together tonight, thanks to modern technology,
we’re still able to honor two outstanding champions for Todos Juntos and celebrate
the work they have made possible for our familias.

Our familias come to Todos Juntos to learn to read, write and speak English and to
help their children become better prepared for kindergarten. But once they are here,
Todos Juntos becomes much more than just an escuelita to them. It becomes a
community of friends and a supportive network that our familias can turn to when
things get tough or they need help.

And in 2020, things definitely got tough for all of us, including our familias.
During the program, you’ll hear how Todos Juntos responded to the COVID-19
pandemic and helped our adult students and little learners continue their
education online and maintain connections, so that an uncertain time became
a little more certain and comfortable.

Your participation tonight helps ensure that Todos Juntos can be here for our
familias and provide the support, encouragement, resources and learning
opportunities they are looking for as we embark into 2021 and beyond.
You are helping remove language and many other barriers our familias face
on their paths to economic and educational success.

Tonight we recognize longtime friends of TJ Jeanie Haggerty and Deloitte for
their tremendous support and the impact they have had not only through their
financial support but through the connections they have made for TJ and the
resources they have brought to us. Please join us in thanking them for their work
strengthening our familias!

COMUNIDAD AWARD

The Comunidad Award is given annually to a Todos Juntos partner
who is part of our community and who has uplifted our organization
and families by sharing their expertise, building or supporting our
programming, providing volunteers or otherwise helped our families
on their path to economic and academic success.

Deloitte has been an active partner with Todos Juntos since 2017.
In that time, they have supported our organization with sponsorships,
lent their talented team members to TJ for event volunteers and
hands-on volunteers for day-long service projects, and helped build
organizational capacity with data analysis and management projects.

Last but not least, they have helped raise awareness about Todos
Juntos and our programming in the community, making connections
and bringing others to our events to learn more about our mission
and work.

AMISTAD AWARD

                       JEANIE HAGGERTY       OF

                       The Amistad Award is given to an individual
                       or entity who has not only philanthropically
supported Todos Juntos through the years, but has demonstrated
friendship to our organizations in other ways and has helped Todos
Juntos meet the needs of the families we serve.

In Spanish, the word “amistad” means “friendship.” Jeanie Haggerty
has indeed been a true friend of Todos Juntos.

Jeanie was a founding board member in 2010 and served on the
Todos Juntos board until last fall, bringing her time, talent and
treasure to ensure that every family who needed Todos Juntos could
create a path to economic and academic success within our walls.

 She has believed in our work from the beginning. Not only was
she one of Todos Juntos’ first donors, she opened doors for us
and connected us to the greater philanthropic community. She has
been a strong advocate for our families and for our staff, and she
has been a mentor to TJ’s leadership since the beginning.

Jeanie has been called a “quiet powerhouse” and Todos Juntos
is fortunate to count her among our friends.

Todos Juntos Learning Center provides an inclusive,
dual-generation program for English Language learning
families to help them successfully integrate into the
Central Texas community.

By educating both children and parents together, we create
an opportunity for the entire family to feel at home in their
community, providing better educational outcomes for kids
and a stronger path to career success for adults.
