Awards/Scholarships/Bursaries Scholarships are awarded for academic achievement. Awards are given to students based on financial need, school or community involvement and academic achievement. Bursaries are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need.
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA Academic Achievement Averages of grade 11 marks, current marks, self-reported final marks, or final marks. School and Community Leadership/Volunteerism School clubs (TADD, Yearbook, Student Leadership, SWAT, Teen Talk, Peer Counselling, Peer Tutoring, Book Club, Bike Repair Program) School sports teams Community clubs, coaching, assisting, ref, manage any sport, soccer, skating, hockey, baseball, etc. Church- sing in a choir, organist, server, work in kitchen at fall suppers, concerts, teach Sunday School, Church Camp Part time jobs or farm related activities –develop independence and skills 4H – all aspects from public speaking, help others with harvest, teaches/coaches riding, etc. Special Olympics, swimming, life guarding, visiting seniors, guides, brownies, scouts,, Babysitting, etc.

Estimated Costs $100 Application fee Estimated costs for a full time, first year U1 student (30 credit hours) http://umanitoba.c a/student/admissio ns/finances/tuition- fees.html -Students residing outside of the Winnipeg city limits may opt-out of the U-Pass. -Students who are covered under another medical plan may opt-out of the University of Manitoba Students' Union (UMSU) health plan.
University of Manitoba General Entrance Scholarships Entrance scholarships are automatically awarded to students graduating from a Canadian high school with outstanding academic averages. A submission through Apply Yourself by the scholarships deadline of March 1, 2021. A minimum average of 85% over the best five courses from a pre-approved list. average greater than or equal to Level I $3,000 95% average greater than or equal to Level II $2,000 90% average greater than or equal to Level III $1,000 85%
University of Manitoba Bursaries Fall/Winter University of Manitoba General Bursary Annual application and supporting documentation to be submitted to the Financial Aid & Awards Office by: October 1st. Available in early-to-mid August through the Aurora Student portal. Continuing University of Manitoba students must meet a G.P.A. requirement of a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0. Spring/Summer University of Manitoba General Bursary Annual application available early April. Application due May 1st.
BMO Leader of Tomorrow & Indigenous Leader of Tomorrow Entrance Scholarships The Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship program highlights exceptional high school graduates who combine outstanding leadership potential with academic giftedness. Each scholarship is valued at $16 000, allocated over four years of study Students must have completed a University of Manitoba application for admission by the December 1 deadline, including payment of application fee. Applicants must submit a Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship application to the Financial Aid and Awards Office by the posted deadline December 1.

UofW Estimated Costs
UofW Entrance Scholarships Apply to the University of Winnipeg by March 1, 2021 to be automatically reviewed for entrance scholarships. For all students (Arts, Business and Economics, Education, Kinesiology, and Science), the scholarship average is calculated based on the following: -Best 40S English (Comprehensive Focus, Literary Focus or Transactional Focus), and -Best 40S Math* (Pre-Calculus, Applied Math or Essential Math), and -One other 40S or higher level full credit course.
UofW Application Required Entrance Awards Apply to the University of Winnipeg by March 1, 2021 for some of their application required entrance awards. Application-Required Entrance Scholarships are for all students who are "new" to The University of Winnipeg and have not taken credits or completed a degree here before. Future Student Night When: November 24, 2020 What: Join online for future student night. Where: Go to https://www.uwinnipeg.ca/future-student- night/ Time: 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Open House When: What: This event allows future students in Grades 10- 12 and their parents an opportunity to see interactive displays, go on a campus tour and talk with Deans, Professors, current students and staff about their future at The University of Winnipeg. This event is geared toward students who are still thinking about what university they would like to attend. Mrs. Riddell will organize groups of students to attend during the day.
Enrichment Programs University of Winnipeg High School Enrichment Program Attend the University of Winnipeg for a week in April/May. SHAD Every July, students experience SHAD’s unique experiential-learning program - rooted in the STEAM disciplines of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. www.shad.ca

WCI Scholarships/Bursaries Last year over 55 awards were highlighted at grad. In the spring, students will fill out a graduation information questionnaire to help the scholarship committee decide local awards which the school selects. In the spring, there will be a list of local awards with applications that need to be completed by students. All applications will be added to Teams in the spring.
