             The Inkpot

Dear Parents,
In May of 2006, four women started the school with
-enormous enthusiam,
-exciting ideas,
-stars in the eyes,
-loads of faith and
-no money in the bank.
With 3 learners and 1 teacher, and firm intentions that
nurturing, quality teaching will be the biggest aim,
Vergezicht gave its first small steps.
This month the school turned 13 years and the only
thing the four owners want to say is, “Thank you so much for
all the help the past thirteen years. The combination of
loveable children, supportive parents and dedicated staff,
ensure that we are still on the road of sound teaching so that
all our learners can reach their own potential!”
     Regards,
     The News team.

Ben Truter does training
Ben Truter, a Clinical Psychologist and director
at Neurodiversity Centre, came to educate the staff
members of Vergezicht Private School on PDA, Autism,
ADHD and ADD. The staff members had a chance to
ask questions, air their opinions and got advice on
applying practical strategies on how to help and support
          persons on the Autistic spectrum.

The Neurodiversity Centre provides a comprehensive
range of services to children and adults with social
communication difficulties such as conditions on the
Autism Spectrum. With over 10 years of international
experience in the field of paediatric neuro-development
and autism spectrum disorders, Ben has developed and
grown this multi-discplinary team to become a world
class centre for autism in the Western Cape.

It was a great priviledge to listen to Ben’s advice. And
what did he say about Vergezicht? “Vergezicht is a
unique school with exceptional education practices that
can compare very well with other schools abroad where
children with learning differences are taught.”

Every child’s obstacles and victories, as
            always, received careful attention.
Learner discussions take place at least once
            per term.
2019 Elections
The Grade 2's had the opportunity to run
for President. Each one could choose an original
name for their party and present what they will
change for the country.
       They voted democratically and Nawal
Baard was chosen as class president. She easily
sold the idea of underwater schools that you
access with a submarine.
