The best attractions for families in Lodz!
While visiting Lodz with children, it is impossible to get
bored. The city offers many attractions suitable for
families and children of all ages.
One of the most interesting places for families with
children in Lodz is the Science and Technology Center,
as well as the Planetarium at EC1 Lodz - the City of
Culture.
The list of attractions for families with children includes
the Lodz ZOO, where a modern Orientarium is being
built in 2021 (planned opening is September 2021)
and the Aquapark „Wave” - water park.
It is also worth visiting green Lodz with your family!
There are over a dozen city parks in the city, as well as
the Palm House, the Botanical Garden and the city
forest in Łagiewniki.
Children in Lodz will surely be eager to discover the
Lodz Fairyland Trail. Attractions for children near Lodz
include the Mandoria amusement park - the City of
Adventure.

1. Science and Technology Center EC1
It is 150 stands and exhibits for over 8 thou. m² of
exhibition space.
The center consists of 3 educational paths:
1. "Energy conversion"
Historical exhibits, modern simulators, computer
games - all this will allow you to get acquainted with
the still used technologies of electricity production.
2. "The development of knowledge and civilization"

2. Planetarium
(part of the Center for Science and Technology EC1)
is the most modern facility of this type in Poland,
equipped with a spherical screen with a diameter
of 14 m and a resolution of 8 k (which in practice
means image quality eight times higher than HD
quality).

3. ZOO in Lodz

4. Orientarium in Lodz ZOO
(*Opening – September 2021)
Lodz Orientarium is a unique project on the map of
European zoos. The interiors of the Orientarium will be
arranged in such a way as to provide the residents of
the Garden with freedom and the opportunity for
visitors to observe animals in conditions as close to
nature as possible.
Most importantly, Lodz Zoo will be inhabited by
species that have never existed before: orangutans,
langurs, anoa, Malayan tapirs, gavials, leopards, sharks
and rays.
5. Fairyland Trail
Generations of Poles were brought up on bedtime
cartoon about Uszatek the Bear, Colargol the Bear and
the Enchanted Pencil. What do these fairy tales have in
common? All of them were created in Lodz.
Being in Lodz with children, you can decide to visit the
Fairyland trail. In the city space, we will find 10 small
monuments to fairy-tale heroes who remind us of the
3 little bears – achievements of Lodz animation.
Fairyland Trail On Piotrkowska Street, we come across the first
monument on the Fairyland trail – Uszatek, the Bear, at
the Museum of Cinematography, we will meet the cats
- Filemon and Boniface, in front of the entrance to the
Palm House - Ćwirek, the Sparrow, two forest people -
Maurycy and Hawranek - in the largest park in Lodz
„Na Zdrowiu”, right next to the entrance to the Zoo
and at the entrance to the Aquapark „Wave” - Pik-Pok,
the penguin.

6. Murals’ Trail
(*for older children)
The tops of many buildings in Lodz are decorated with
murals, thus creating the largest outdoor city gallery in
Poland. Its creators are famous street art artists from
Poland and abroad. The contemporary outdoor city
gallery is not only graffiti, but also various installations
on the walls of buildings - made of bars, car parts,
fragments of mirrors, and even moss.
Do you know that one of the first contemporary Łódź
murals painted in 2001 by the Łódź art group Design
Futura at Piotrkowska Street 152 was entered in the
Guinness Book of Records and was for some time the
largest graffiti in the world?
7. Palm House
Located in „Źródliska” park, the Palm House of the
Botanical Garden is an attractive place for both small
and large explorers of the natural world.
It consists of 3 pavilions with different climate and a
didactic garden. Over 4,300 plants and several animal
species are planted in the facility, including turtles and
koi carps adored by children.
The didactic garden consists of over 670 taxa,
including 450 trees and shrubs located on the terrain
adapted for walks and rest.

9. Aquapark „Wave”
It is one of the largest water parks in Poland. Outdoor
and indoor pools, including a wave pool, the highest in
Poland Kamikadze water slide, Finnish sauna and
steam sauna, water massage, rope bridge, graduation
tower, playgrounds, drink bars, restaurants - all of
these are located in the heart of Lodz.
„Wave” is a unique place, both in terms of architecture
and available attractions. The water park offers beauty

10. Łagiewnicki forest
It is one of the largest urban forests in Europe.
Kilometers of hiking, biking and horse trails run
through the Łagiewniki Forest. There is also the
Arturówek bathing beach with a unique water
playground for children.

11. Mandoria - the City of Adventure
Mandoria is a family amusement park styled entirely as
a Renaissance trading town.
It is the first year-round amusement park in central
Poland, and at the same time the largest indoor theme
park in Europe.
Various attractions await the guests in the City of
Adventure. We can find there family roller coasters as
well as classic carousels and boats floating on the
water. They all have their own unique names and are
styled according to the theme of the park. The most
important ones include: the Merkant roller coaster,
Leonardo's Lighthouse - bicycles floating above the
ground, the Galeon spinning in the port, the Treasury -
that is, a labyrinth of mirrors hiding many secrets, a
two-level Venetian carousel Caravan, or a chain
carousel Jewel.
Mandoria – Many attractions of Mandoria are adapted to the
needs of disabled people.
