Mass Times From Fr. Ellis Saturday It’s Labor Day Weekend! 5:00 pm Labor Day is associated with many Sunday things. It’s the final day of the Great 9:00 am & 11:00 am Minnesota Get-Together known Monday as the State Fair. It marks the 8:15 am “unofficial” end of summer (summer officially ends Sept. 21). While we tend to focus on Labor Day being Tuesday the last hurrah for barbeques and long weekends 8:15 am and summer vacation, it is also the start of other Wednesday things. That includes not only the new academic 8:15 am year, but the football season as well. While it is a civil observance, not a church one, it is also the last Friday weekend for 10am Sunday Mass. Next weekend we 8:15 am will begin our schedule of 9am and 11am Masses on Sunday. In addition, note that Mass on Monday, Sept. Sacrament of Confession 6 will be at 9am due to the holiday. Saturday Even though it is not a church observance, the 3:00 - 4:00 pm Church has always believed that work is an integral part of human dignity. This is because it allows us Eucharistic Adoration to participate in God’s work of creation. Our own First Friday of the Month creativity and productiveness mirrors what God has 9:00 am - 6:00 pm done in making the universe—even though He made everything from nothing, while we must use existing things to make new ones. This is what St. Joseph did; Rosary Devotion he was a laborer himself and passed on that trade to Monday-Wednesday & Friday Christ. This year, we have meditated in a particular 7:55 am way on the earthly father of Jesus, including the fact that along with Mary, he was the closest person to Sacraments Jesus. This only highlights that work has great value and dignity.
