About AIOP The Australian Institute of Office Professional (AIOP) is a dynamic national professional membership association for administrative professionals in Australia. AIOP is focussed on raising the profile of the profession across the business community, accelerating the professional and personal development of its members by actively promoting the standing of the profession through its pathways to education and training, professional and personal development events and webinars, and workshops hosted by both AIOP National and Divisions around Australia. AIOP members include administrative professionals from entry level to executive management, and represent a diverse range of industries and roles which include managers, executive/personal assistants, team leaders, project officers, paralegals and administrative support staff. AIOP Statement of Purpose AIOP’s purpose is to empower and promote excellence and best practices in the administrative profession and to establish collaborative, strategic alliances to advance continuous professional and personal development. The Award The AIOP Administrative Award of Excellence 2022 ("the Award"), in association with Drake International. The successful candidate in each category is either an administrative assistant, executive assistant, account manager, receptionist, customer service representative or administrative support professionals under the categories of Office Administrator and Rising Star. The Office Administrator category recognises nominees with 10 years or more experience and the Rising Star category recognises nominees with up to 10 years office experience. AIOP continues to recognise the achievements of all office and administrative professionals across Australia. Kindly return the completed nomination form and attachments no later than 28 February 2022 via email to the national president e: nationalpres@aiop.com.au Office Professionals Day In Australia, Office Professionals Day is celebrated each year on the first Friday of May and recognises the work of all office professionals be they be administrative assistants, executive assistants, account managers, receptionists, client and customer service representatives and other administrative support professionals.
Categories of Nomination Office Administrator (10 years and over) and Rising Star (up to 10 years) experience. Nomination Guidelines Who can nominate? Dedicated individuals who strive to excel and further develop themselves in their role as an administrative professional can nominate or be recommended for the Award. • Nominees must be employed as an administrative/office professional. • Nominees must have a minimum of up to ten years’ experience (not necessarily with the same organisation) as a Rising Star nomination. • Nominees must have over 10 years consecutive years’ experience as an Office Administrator. • Nominees must work and reside in Australia. How to Nominate The Award is open to AIOP members and non-members who must answer four questions (200 words max per question) and provide the following information: • Question 1 - What is your role, and what do you see as being the most important role of an administrative professional; • Question 2 - What made you choose your career path; • Question 3 - What has been your biggest achievement as an Office Professional; • Question 4 - What advice would you give to someone choosing to become an office professional; o Provide a copy of your current resume, o Sign the Nominee Declaration and have it endorsed by your Executive. • Any person can recommend a candidate for nomination of the Award by completing this section in the Nomination Form. • Please note that nominees must be fully aware that they are being nominated for this Award. • All nominations and attachments provided remain strictly confidential. • Nominations must be received by 5:00pm Monday, 28 February 2022 and emailed in a PDF format to nationalpres@aiop.com.au Presentation of Award The Award will be presented at the Office Professionals Day celebration on Friday, 6 May 2022. Winners are selected for their outstanding achievement and their ongoing commitment to their profession and must be present to receive the Award in person or on line.
Award Prizes The winner of each category will receive: • An Award Trophy • A one-year AIOP general membership • An overnight stay at QUEST (in any State in Australia) • A short course provided by UPSKILLED • A registration only to Corporate PA Conference by THINKTANK MEDIA (Sydney or Melbourne in August 2022) • Networking Coaching Session by Ron Gibson, Go Networking • Laser Coaching Session, by Liz Van Vliet • A voucher by HAMPR Award Winner The Award winners are Ambassadors for AIOP and are encouraged to continue their personal and professional development through active involvement in AIOP activities. AIOP Administrative Award of Excellence 2022 in Association with Drake International Terms and Conditions of Entry The terms and conditions to participate in the AIOP Administrative Award of Excellence 2022 are: • All questions on the Nomination/Referral form must be completed and forwarded with the required attachments by 5:00pm Monday, 28 February 2022 to nationalpres@aiop.com.au. • Shortlisted candidates must attend an on-line panel interview on Saturday, 19 March 2022 and/or Saturday 26 Mach 2022. (Details to be confirmed). • Shortlisted candidates may also be required to take part in a short video recorded interview, which will be screened during the AIOP Administrative Award of Excellence 2022 ceremony on Friday, 6 May 2022. • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. • Applications are only accessible to the organisers and the independent judging panel. • All applications are destroyed after the conclusion of the Award judging process. • Nominee names and contact details are retained to form a database for promotional purposes of the organisation and sponsors. • Finalists agree to media publicity and promotion associated with the Award. • The Winner agrees to act as an ambassador in promoting AIOP to the wider business community and attend AIOP functions during the year. • Every endeavour is made to ensure the presentation of prizes are as advertised. However, in the unlikely event that a sponsor is unable to honour their commitment, the Award winner acknowledges that the Australian Institute of Office Professionals (AIOP) will not be expected to supply the prize. • Prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. • Finalists must be present at the Office Professionals Day Celebration on Friday, 6 May 2022.
