CHALLENGE INSTRUCTIONS Simply put, to participate you need to make 4 reels, post them and interact with the rest of the group’s posts. 1. Join the Whatsapp group - send your number to liam@tramshedtech.co.uk to be added to the group before 11am on Friday 6th. 2. Post your reels between 5-7pm on: a. Friday 6th b. Monday 9th c. Wednesday 11th d. Friday 13th 3. Share a link to your reel in the whatsapp group straight after posting 4. Comment, like and share other group members reels as they post between 5-7pm 5. Respond to the comments other community members post on your reels. Repeat these stages for each of the 4 days.
Dates and Themes Day 1: Friday 6th August - Introduce your business Your Business Story: Scene 1 – What do you do Examples – What is your company? What do you do? Show us your products and services. If you are a lifestyle product - What could I get for Mum/Dad/daughter/son for their birthday? Scene 2 – Tease the answer Example – How you would solve that struggle/pain point? Extra Reels Challenge Optional Extras Scene 1 – Pick a ‘goal’ of our client Example – What everyone thinks running a business is like Scene 2 – what you thought Example - Falling asleep at a computer or yawning on the phone Scene 3 – vs Reality Example - Smiling and laughing, talking with people, showing people how to use your service, making your product, happy dance when someone orders, excitedly packing your product Who do these work for? This works well for fitness, food and wellbeing businesses. Fitness - What people think exercise is like (burpees, press ups, hard and boring) vs what it’s like with you as a PT member of your class (smiling, social, fun). Food - What people think so and so cuisine / business lunches / home cooking looks like vs your amazing food, easy to follow recipes, step by step videos Wellbeing - What people think wellbeing businesses are (airy fairy, meditation and crystals - I love all of these things so no offence meant) vs practical, soothing, beneficial 04
Other options for Reels Other options include: Repackage evergreen content What have you blogged about or posted before? Can you utilise that? Answer FAQs Tease Upcoming Videos or Podcast Episodes How to videos A day in the life Instagram vs Reality - Reel vs Reel-ality Behind the scenes - Photography / Videography / Modelling Sneak peek of products Jump on a trend - Scroll through the explore page for ideas E.g. Outfit changes Other helpful Instagram apps Captions and Hashtags Be sure to write short, to the point captions, your video should tell the story! Include a call to action if there is not one in your video. Make sure you take advantage of hashtags, you are allowed 30 tags so use them! But, make sure they do not clutter your caption otherwise people will not read it. Add in some empty lines and add the tags further down, or add a few key ones in the caption and the rest in a comment. Each post should include the hashtags below so other challenge participants can find your posts and Instagram can pick up the flurry of joined up activity. But add your own that are trending in your industry, are relevant to your business and the content of the reel you are posting. Top Tips Top tips to get the most out of the challenge: Show up as yourself, be authentic and show your face - the power of your small business is you! Plus, reels with people in perform better than those without! Use short captions to highlight your message and story Try to make your reels 15 seconds for best engagement Switch up your scenes every 3-4 seconds to keep the audience engaged Find a song or piece of music that aligns with your message - try to use original audio (audio from Instagram, InShot or TikTok) to prevent a copyright limitations If you don’t have the audio function on Instagram use InShot or TikTok to create your videos Splice is a great video making app perfect for reels if you are struggling with any of the apps functionality Reels can be included as part of your main feed or not. If your videos do not fit the aesthetic of your page, keep them on the reels section as they allow your customers / followers to get to know you Add them to your story as well! Share them after you’ve posted them so people can click through to your post 04
