AMBASSADOR?
SEEK2019 Ambassadors represent
FOCUS and fulfill the Great Commission
by recruiting others to attend.

WHO COUNTS TOWARDS YOUR
RECRUITMENT TOTAL:
• Anyone not on a FOCUS campus or FOCUS staff
• Family, friends on other campuses, priests,
fellow parishioners, etc.
WHO DOES NOT COUNT TOWARDS

• FOCUS staff
• Anyone on a FOCUS campus
• Walk-ins
• Commuter passes
• Your own registration
WHO CANNOT BE AN AMBASSADOR:
• FOCUS staff

The top three ambassadors who recruit the most individuals will receive:

• One night of reserved seating for the entire group
• A shout out from the main stage.
*The top 3 ambassadors must each register at least 30 people to qualify

INCENTIVE REQUIREMENTS
To receive credit for a registration, you must submit the information (name, address, phone, etc.) of the
registrants you recruited via the Excel spreadsheet you will receive when you register as an ambassador.
• Only submit an individual’s information after verifying their registration payment in full,
otherwise you will not receive credit for their registration.
• Note: Ambassador Program roommate requests for groups closes October 30. If you want your
group to room together, please submit your list of members by this date.

PROMOTIONL STRATEGY
You know the effect a conference can have on someone’s life. You
know the power of a friend’s personal invitation. Now is the time to
reach out to others and help them have a life-changing experience.
How? It’s simple. Here are some helpful pointers to get you started:
• What is your best memory from a past FOCUS conference? What did your friends/family say about it?
• How would you describe those experiences to someone? Think about your story!
• Who did you wish could have been there with you at a FOCUS conference? Who do you think
needs this kind of life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ and His Church?
• Who should receive an invitation to the conference? Make a list.
Friends, family, fellow parishioners, classmates, neighbors
Pray for and personally invite the family members, friends, people at your home parish, people in your
classes and in your dorm, who are searching for meaning and purpose in their lives.
Since attending SEEK2019 is important enough for you to spend your time and money, why should it be
different for them? Only you can communicate the importance of their attendance and how much you
want to share this experience with them.
GET EXCITED!
• 99% of students who attended our last conference said they
would bring friends with them to a future FOCUS conference.
• 70% of students attended a past conference because a
missionary, friend or friend of FOCUS invited them.
• The deciding factor for most students is not the speakers,
entertainment or program; it is who else goes.
Your invitation is invaluable!

WHAT TO DO:
1. The Personal Invitation: Invite them to coffee and share the benefits of going. Speak into their
lives. Share the vision.
• Tell them your story. Include your best memory from a past conference or with FOCUS.
Tell them why you go back.
• Show them the SEEK2019 promo video found on SEEK2019.com, as well as the SEEK2019
Facebook event, FOCUS Instagram and YouTube videos.
• Use promo materials to create buzz and generate momentum leading up to SEEK2019.
• Let them know who else is going. This is the most influential part to their decision to go!
2. Social Media
• Social media does not convince anyone to attend, it only increases awareness. However, it is a
great networking tool that connects with and personally invites people.
• Utilize our brand new digital promo pack, which includes phone and desktop backgrounds,
as well as social media banners and shareables.
• Be sure to use #SEEK2019 when posting!
Here are some common questions and excuses
you might hear and answers you can give:
Q. “How can attending be affordable for me?”
• Registering early at $499 is almost half the cost of a new iPhone
• Eating out 1–2 times less each week ($20) can save you enough to attend
• FOCUS offers awesome fundraising packets that can help you raise the money to attend
• Ask for the “gift” of attending conference for Christmas
Q. “How long is the SEEK2019 conference?”
• Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 – Monday, Jan. 7, 2019
Q. “What about transportation to and from the conference?”
• FOCUS campuses often rent buses, so try contacting the closest team and request a ride.
To find a list of FOCUS campuses, visit focusoncampus.org
• If buses aren’t available, many FOCUS campuses will negotiate discounted group rates
for plane tickets
Q. “What if I don’t know anyone attending?”
• Explain that you are attending and are inviting them to attend with you
• Introduce them to other individuals who are going or connect them with a nearby FOCUS team
• Remind them that SEEK2019 is a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.
