Introduction & Welcome On behalf of the Mosgiel Brigade, I would like to welcome you, and introduce you to this registration pack. It is an honour for us to hold the Annual Conference and Waterway Challenge in February 2019. We have put many hours into planning to make sure it is a memorable event. We also want to ensure that you get what you expect at this event, so we aim to be very transparent about what’s on offer, and what it costs. In the following pages, you will find everything you need to know about the event. (if you think we have missed something, please let us know) we want to help you get here and to have a great time. We’re expecting long sunny days and temperatures in the high twenties for the day, so bring your sunscreen, a positive outlook, and of course, your competitive edge. Weekend schedule of Dates & Times This is an estimate of times as best we can. We will be aiming to meet these across the weekend. Monday 5th November Registration Packs sent out to everyone in Region 5 Monday 17th December Registrations close 6pm, (late fee applies after this date $40) Thursday 7th February OSPFBA Executive meeting 1730hrs - Registration packs available for collection from Mosgiel Station Friday 8th February 08:30hrs - Registration packs available for collection from the conference venue, (Peter Johnston Park) 0915hrs – Morning tea 0930hrs – Conference starts 0930hrs – Partners Trip begins from Peter Johnston Park (See detailed itinerary) 1800hrs – Social time at Mosgiel Fire Station 1830hrs – Past Presidents Dinner starts Saturday 9th February Waterway Challenge 0745hrs – Officials on the track 0745hrs – Officials morning tea 0800hrs – Waterway challenge starts 1630hrs – Waterway challenge ends Ceremony *Cash Bar* 1900hrs – Awards ceremony venue opens (Peter Johnston Park, No transport provided) 1930hrs – MC Matt Jones Opens the evening 1945hrs – Ceremony commences 2030hrs – Ceremony concludes 2100hrs – Supper 0000hrs – Evening concludes Sunday 10th February 0915hrs – Muster at Mosgiel Fire Station 0930hrs – Church Services begins (At Mosgiel Fire Station) 1000hrs – Church Service concludes 1000hrs – BBQ Brunch
Partner’s trip If you’re thinking about coming on our partners trip, here is all the info you need to make your decision. We have prepared two options, but first we want to be up front with you. Each van has 13 seats. Its intended that one van will go to each of option A or B we will do our best to accommodate your first choice. Option A – Museum tour. 0930hrs – Leaving from the Conference venue (Peter Johnston Park) 1000hrs – Visit Toitu Café available on site or walk into the city grab a vino 1100hrs – Option to visit Otago Museum (Group decision on the day) 1200hrs – Picked up from where you were dropped off, travel to Mosgiel 1230hrs – Lunch at Wallis Nursery, maybe some mini golf? (This is at your cost, Menu below) 1400hrs – Heli-Otago & Otago Rescue Helicopter trust visit 1530hrs – Return to conference Option B – Wine & Shopping in the city. 0930hrs – Leaving from the Conference venue (Peter Johnston Park) Travel to city 1000hrs – Dropped off in the Octagon, go fourth and conquer. 1200hrs – Picked up from where you were dropped off, travel to Mosgiel 1230hrs – Lunch at Wallis Nursery, maybe some mini golf?
