FREE ACCESS TO BVR RESEARCH AND WEBINARS
The CBV institute is pleased to announce that we are embarking on an exciting new partnership with Business
Valuation Resources (BVR), to bring all of our members and registered students free access to BVR research and
webinars though a dedicated CBV institute online portal.
The CBV institute has secured an enterprise license for access to BVResearch Pro, touted as the industry's most
robust and complete knowledge library with a wealth of the best business valuation research, news, legal analysis,
webinar transcripts, and BVR publications in a comprehensive online platform.
Through the CBV institute portal, members and students will obtain free access to:
BVResearch Pro, an online searchable library providing complete access to news, articles, legal digests,
books, and webinar transcripts. Includes important business valuation legal cases and analysis from BVLaw
(3,400+ court case digests), 10,000+ BVR and partner articles, a digital library of 70+ BVR-published books,
guides, and special reports, 570+ BVR transcripts from current and historical webinars.
BVUpdate, a monthly newsletter with the latest business valuation news plus online search of 5,000+
articles, well as access to the online BVU search engine and newsletter archives.
Desktop Learning Centre Pro, a library of on-demand training with a wealth of CPD opportunities. An on-
demand archive of every BVR past event (600+), including web workshops, webinars, and special series,
including access to the presentation materials.
Access will be available for all CBV institute members and students via a BVR portal page starting later this year.

NOTICE BOARD
New Brand Name
As a point of clarification, while the institute’s new brand name is CBV Institute, the legal name of the organization
continues to be the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators. You can continue to refer to a reports as
being prepared in accordance with practice standards of The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
Efforts to complete the process of rebranding continue and will be rolled in a unified manner before long.
Call for Nominations to the CBV Hall of Honours!
Nominations are open for the two highest honours bestowed by the institute for distinguished career and lifetime
achievement by chartered business valuators:
The Fellowship Designation (FCBV) - granted to practicing members who have provided
distinguished service to the profession or brought significant recognition to the profession.
How to nominate
The Life Member Designation - granted to retired members who have attained eminence in the profession.

Conferring these exceptional honours is our finest moment as an institute community. Recipients are accomplished
CBVs who have dedicated their careers to strengthening our profession and building our stellar reputation. Their
contributions energize our professional pride and inspire future business leaders among us. We invite you to join us
in recognizing members whose commitment to excellence places them at the highest levels of our profession.

CBVs in the Community
On October 29th, Prem Lobo, CPA, CA, CBV, CPA (Illinois), CFE,
CFF (Toronto, Ontario) and Michelle Tran, CPA, CA, CBV, CFF
(Toronto, Ontario) delivered a presentation on various financial
designations, including the CBV, CIA, CFF, and CFA, to students
specializing in accounting and finance at the Schulich School of
Business (York University). The students were engaged and
eager to learn about the designations, and how they can
complement each other.
On November 7th, Michael Carnegie, CPA, CA, CBV (Ancaster, Ontario) gave an
engaging “Business Valuation Primer” presentation to business students at Wilfred
Laurier University. Mike exposed the students to the CBV designation, and
provided illustrations of how the concepts they are learning about in class can be
applied in business valuation exercises.
