Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism Board 2021-2022 Matthew Hurley – Owner, Second Valley Cottages. Matthew Hurley is the owner of Second Valley Cottages and Lodge and principal of Hurley Hospitality Creative consulting within tourism and hospitality Australia wide. He a professional manager with more than thirty years’ experience in hospitality and tourism. This includes twenty-eight years’ in General Manager positions and more than ten years in multi-outlet companies across a range of businesses, from small to large and from highly successful to those in need of major restructure or redirection. These positions have all been in hotels and other tourism related businesses located in Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Port Douglas. Matthew has also worked across a broad range of community and government organisations. He was Chairman of the Port Douglas Daintree Tourism Association, Chairman of the Accommodation Division of the Western Australian Hotels Association and a member of the Advisory Board for AFL Cape York House Cairns. Steve Shotton - Regional Development Manager. Regional Development Australia – Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island Steve is experienced in creation, growth and management of businesses across several industries including agriculture, aquaculture, technology, professional and environmental services. He is skilled in Board Directorship, Entrepreneurship, Raising Capital, Strategic Planning, Business Operations, Business Development and Sales, Project Management, Culture Building, Systems and Procedures, and Relationship Building at all levels. In his role at RDA Steve works with government, industry, individual businesses and communities to grow the economy and liveability of the region.
Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism Board 2021-2022 Luke Talbot-Male – Managing Director – Adventures Beyond Group Luke Talbot-Male is an innovative and passionate leader, lives in Port Elliot with his young family and is proud to call the Fleurieu Peninsula home. Luke brings over 20 years of experience in the tourism industry and is Managing Director of the multi award winning Adventures Beyond Group, who offer a wide range of adventure tourism and team building experiences throughout Australia. Apart from operating his own successful tourism businesses, Luke also has over a decade of board experience in multiple roles and is passionate about the Fleurieu Peninsula region and all it has to offer. Kate Henning – Pack Leader & Owner – Smiling Samoyed Brewery Kate and her husband started Smiling Samoyed Brewery at Myponga in November 2012. Production began on their 12HL brew house in August 2013. Smiling Samoyed produce a range of award winning beers that are available for wholesale customers as well as at their on-site brewery bar located overlooking the beautiful Myponga Reservoir. Kate is a passionate about collaboration and believes that knowledge should be shared. She is proud to be a board member of the Food and Beverage Development Fund and, now, Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism. She actively supports, encourages and collaborates with other small businesses in the area and beyond including stocking other local products within her business, collaborating on development of products, arranging contract brewing for other businesses at her brewery and developing new mechanisms for collaboration and support within the industry.
Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism Board 2021-2022 Jaclyn Thorne – Director – McGregor Tan Jaclyn has worked in the tourism industry for almost twenty years, holding leadership positions such as General Manager of Tourism Central Australia and Barossa Tourism Manager in this time. With a shift to business ownership in recent years, Jaclyn is now a co-owner of McGregor Tan Research and Managing Director of a customer experience consultancy; expy. Her greatest skills are in designing and facilitating workshops, understanding data and finding relevant insights, and creating memorable experiences for target audiences. With a passion in business development, strategic planning and tourism, she has held a number of National, State and Regional board positions advising in this area. Kristen Pittman – Owner – Ninos & Loco Kristen is the owner and operator of Nino’s Victor Harbor for past 21 years with her husband Simon. They are also owner and operator of Loco Mexican for past 6 years. Her daily role in these businesses is in HR management, marketing, customer service, and administration of a group that currently employs 47 people and operates 7 days a week. She is current Deputy Chair of Business Victor Harbor, and a new board member of Restaurant and Catering Australia Nation council. As part of my role as BVH Deputy Chair, she is currently working with the City of Victor Harbor on a rebranding venture to reinvigorate our local area. Kristen is also a mother of 3 children, a tap teacher, a rural home owner and passionate Victor Harbor advocate. She works hard to deliver a positive and prosperous environment for my family, her employees and the business community of Victor Harbor, and looks forward to continuing this.
Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism Board 2021-2022 Terri –Ann Walker – Marketing Insights Manager – Mitsubishi Motors Australia Terri-Ann Walker is a strategic marketing professional with global exposure across Automotive, Aviation, Tourism, Professional Member Services, NGO/NFPs, Government and Financial Services. Terri’s preferred sector is Tourism, where her passion was ignited after working with Tourism NSW on the 2000 Olympics, promoting Sydney and Regional NSW to the world. One of Terri’s key achievements in Tourism was being the founder of their ATDW member program ‘Get Connected’ after moving from advertising management to digital marketing, where she was instrumental in some of the first digital campaigns and content management systems in the Tourism sector. Terri’s passions include business strategy, brand development and expression, digital marketing, performance psychology and human design – understanding what drives human ingenuity and behaviour. Jenni Mitton – General Manager – Willunga Farmers Market Jenni is the General Manager of the Willunga Farmers Market since 2017 and has experience in sales, marketing and event management. She has lived in this region for 18 years loves to support her local community in not only business but schools, sporting clubs, local events and festivals. Prior to having her children, Jenni worked for 10 years in the Tourism industry – attending national and international trade shows, developing and packaging South Australian tourism products for an inbound tourism business, co-ordinating and hosting many familiarisations and sales missions. She has developed strong relationships with local businesses during her time as a committee member of the McLaren Vale Business & Tourism Association, and is a key participant of successful community events, demonstrating her commitment to the promotion of the Fleurieu including all that this amazing region has to offer.
