Direct-Entry-Scheme-to-Polytechnic Programme (DPP) (google: DPP Criteria) 10th to 30th percentile – estimated 1000 students Graduates from the Direct Entry Scheme (DES to Higher Nitec) intake will be assured of either a first or second year place in a related Polytechnic Diploma course ELMAB3 raw aggregate score of 19 points or better (excluding CCA bonus points) - EL ≤ 4 and MA ≤ 4 to be eligible to apply to Applied Sciences, Engineering and Info Communications Technology, Higher Nitec DES programmes. - EL ≤ 3 and MA ≤ 4, to be eligible to apply to Business and Services Higher Nitec DES programmes

MOTHER TONGUE
Mother Tongue B Syllabus (For Express/NA) MOTHER TONGUE Mother Tongue B is an examinable subject however grade will not be included in the computation of aggregate score. Candidates who pass will be deemed to have met the Mother Tongue requirement for admission to tertiary education. Performance in Chinese B / Malay B / Tamil B is indicated as Merit, Pass or Ungraded. Criteria • School’s assessment and recommendation of individual student’s MT performance. (School will assess the MTL standard that a student can achieve with reasonable effort, taking into account the student's PSLE MTL grade and MTL performance in his secondary school examinations)

Additional Mathematics (Express) Useful information: Additional Mathematics will provide a good grounding for engineering-related MATHEMATICS courses at the polytechnics Relevance for Post Secondary Education: Advantage to have for Polytechnic course and for Junior Colleges O-Level Mathematics (For Normal Academic) Useful information: Sit for the subject at the GCE O Level Examination at Secondary 4. Principles of Accounts (POA) for Express & N(A) Useful information: MATHEMATICS Includes recording and processing of business transactions, not a mathematical subject. Relevance for Post Secondary Education: Can be used as a subject to qualify for Sec 5NA (for Normal Academic) Can be used as a 2nd group of relevant subjects for entry in to Polytechnics

Social Studies (Express and Normal Academic) Useful information: Understand the interconnectedness between Singapore and the world they live in. Critical thinking skills, examining past events through multiple perspectives and drawing connections to the present.
