As a survivor of traumatic brain injuries, Jessica’s message is clear: Life goes on so dream big. Meet Jessica
and share her stories--both real and fictional.

Author Talk with D.B. Carew
Coquitlam author Derrick Carew will discuss his latest book, The
Weight of Blood. Derrick is a social worker at the Forensic Psychiatric
Hospital at Colony Farm.
This thriller is the second book in the continuing adventures of Chris
Ryder, a social worker at a psychiatric institute who is assigned
to a patient charged with a high-profile murder. It’s sure to be an
interesting read!

of women in her field and how she came to this
career path. Sara has worked for MSF (Doctors
without Borders), the Red Cross and the World
Bank on projects in Afghanistan, Gaza, Yemen,
The Republic of Congo, the Philippines and Jordan.
She has led medical expeditions, designed water
and waste-water treatment facilities, overseen
solar energy programs, coordinated critical
infrastructure repairs in war zones, advised senior
government officials on infrastructure investment
strategies, and so much more.
