                        Two day workshop
                                on
          “CNC PROGRAMMING SIMULATION & OPERATION”
                   18th and 19th February, 2019
                       In association with
      Gujarat Council On Science & Technology (GUJCOST)

“Parul Girls Polytechnic Institute” is an integral part of “Parul Arogya Seva Mandal” since
2005. The Institute was established with 3 UG programs (CE, IT & EC) with an annual
intake of 180. In the year 2007-08 Mechanical Engineering program with an intake of 60
were introduced and then onwards Institute’s name had been changed as “Parul
Polytechnic Institute”.
The institute offer diploma engineering course in Civil Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering,
Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. The Institute always believes in
the overall growth with practical knowledge and for that it was awarded with AICTE-CII
(Best industry link up) award New Delhi in the year of 2015.

Inaugural Session:
The Workshop had inaugurated by Eminent Key Note Speaker, Mr. Dipak Shah, Roshni
Computers Service, Owner, Mr. Bhupesh Goyal Assistant Professor,Parul University &
also Dignitaries Dr. M. N. Patel, Provost, Parul University, Prof M. R. Patel, Director
Academics, Prof. Babita Chaube, Academic Director, Parul University and Prof. Jatin S.
Vaidya, Principal, Parul Polytechnic Institute.

56 participants from various polytechnics, engineering colleges across Gujarat, Heads of
Different sections, Eminent expert speakers Mr. Dipak Shah, Owner, Roshni Computers
Service, Mr. Bhupesh Goyal, Assistant Professor, Parul University, Mr. Ramesh Bhoi,

Program Co-ordinator, & Mr. Harshil Shah Co-coordinator and faculties members &
students were remaining present in the inaugural session. As per the Indian tradition,
the Workshop had inaugurated with Prayer and Lighting of the lamp.

Mr. Harshil Shah, Assistant Professor, Parul University had welcomed dignitaries,
faculties and participants. He briefed all about the Workshop and its importance. He
explained the outcomes of the program and mainly focused CNC programming and their
Simulation in modern era. He had given brief outline of program and requested to all
participants to enrich their knowledge from this Workshop by effective participation. He
thanked Parul University for always supporting for faculties and students development
programs.

Prof. Jatin S. Vaidya, Principal, Parul Polytechnic Institute shared his view on this
subject. He motivated all the participants by explaining the importance of such kind of
programs and their significance. He congratulated Institute for organizing such a
program which indirectly benefits to society. He had briefed about the Parul Polytechnic
Institute profile, activities and Laboratory facilities.

Supporters and participants for their valuable inputs to the program.

On day one, workshop of CNC programming is divided in two sessions. In first session all
students got knowledge about basics of CNC machine and its application. There are
many difference of NC and CNC machine and it’s more beneficial to work with CNC
machine compare to NC machine.

After Completion of this introductory session start with all terminology related CNC
machine is explained to students so they will understand all the parameters of CNC part
programming easily. The CNC part programming is based on coding so all coding system
explain by the respective faculty to student and so that they can understand brief of
programming. He gave knowledge about cutting parameter, tool selection and insert

selection. There are many parameters for cutting which is feed, speed and depth of cut.
All parameters consider for CNC machine which is used in manufacturing process.
After completion of all theoretical knowledge about CNC machine start with actual part
programming which is used for manufacturing in CNC machine. There are many codes
used for CNC machine in which G code, M code, N Code, X,Y,Z code, S code etc. which is
used for part programming.

On day Two, practical work of CNC machine is done by the students and which program
is done by student they load on the machine by them self and they see simulation of the
part program.

After part programming, actual machining process is teach to students and they are
perform practically as per instruction given by faculty. Moreover they perform
practically they seen that this is actual manufacturing on CNC machine and they are
quite confident about their learning of part programming.

Valedictory Session:
The workshop was concluded with valedictory session with the Certificate
distribution to all the participants. In the Valedictory session, Mr. Bhupesh Goyal,
Assistant Professor, Parul Institute of Technology, Prof. Babita Chaube, Academic
Director, Parul University and Prof. Jatin S. Vaidya, Principal, Parul Polytechnic
Institute were remaining present.

The concluding remarks were given by Mr. Ramesh Bhoi, Program coordinator. He
highlighted the immense contribution of the various sponsors and organizers and
special thanks to Parul University for the massive support for the workshop. He
shared his view for such workshops which need to be taken more with great
enthusiasm. Academicians and professionals also shared their feedback about the
program.

Mr. Harshil Shah, Program Co-coordinator, Mechanical Engineering Department
thanked all the participants, organizers, supporting partners, all the faculty members
and all who directly or indirectly supported the Workshop for successful completion.

In this workshop students have benefited the basic knowledge of CNC machine,
various operation performed on CNC, Assign cutting parameters, Write Program for
the Design and Safety of CNC machine. Students were eagerly to say conducting this
type of workshop for advance VMC machine which shows the success of this
workshop.
