ABOUT AMERICA ON TECH PAGE | 01 AN EARLY PIPELINE WHO WE ARE TECHNOLOGY TALENT ACCELERATOR Established in 2014, America On Tech (AOT) is an award-winning nonprofit organization on a mission to prepare the next generation of technology leaders by creating pathways into degrees and careers in technology. AOT runs technology courses for underestimated students to ensure their success in the innovation economy. Our courses focus on building their skills in areas such as front-end web development, UX design and quality assurance. OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM PAGE | 02 PAID INTERNSHIP ACCESS TECH PROGRAM FOR 16 - 22 YEAR OLDS The 2021 Access Tech Internship Program provides 16-22 year olds a game-changing opportunity that puts the skills they have learned in our technology training programs into real-life work experiences with technologists in the field. The program aims to place students in some of the following areas: FRONT-END PROJECT AND WEB QUALITY PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ASSURANCE MANAGEMENT USER DIGITAL AND EXPERIENCE QUALITY SOCIAL MEDIA AND USER ASSURANCE MARKETING INTERFACE DESIGN Our past internship hosts have been leading companies and organizations who are committed to creating pathways for young people into degrees and careers in technology. PARTNERSHIP OVERVIEW PAGE | 03 COMMITMENTS AND PARTNERSHIP EXPECTATIONS Step 1: Confirm your eligibility to participate in the program by Friday, May 14, 2021* Confirm you can host at least two interns for 25 hours p/w from July 5, 2021 - August 13, 2021 and indicate preferred internship format (in-person or virtual) Confirm you can pay each intern $18-20 per hour for their internship or indicate interest in NYC DYCD funding stream Confirm a project that the intern can work on during the allotted time-frame Confirm an employee point of contact and manager for the intern and AOT staff Step 2: Submit a job description and project for the Intern by Friday, May 14, 2021 Submit confirmation form to America On Tech describing the internship position Submit confirmation form to America On Tech describing the internship project Step 3: Review candidates and select for interviews and position by June 2021 Review candidate resumes and select at least 4 students for interviews Select at least 2 students to host for the internship program over the summer Step 4: Attend a 1 hour virtual partner on-boarding in June 2021 Have intern point of contact attend the virtual partner on-boarding session Step 5: Host students for a meet and greet in June 2021 Schedule time in June 2021 with interns and team for office tour and meet and greet. This can also be conducted virtually if internship is virtual. *While this is the final deadline, we confirm partners on a rolling basis as early as January 2021. We encourage submission of confirmation form ASAP!
