COVID-19 GUIDELINES To ensure we adhere to the Department of Education COVID 19 guidelines and to keep our school community safe: • We ask that all students arrive at Blackburn High School between 8.40 – 8.55 am. Students should enter school via the Springfield Road pedestrian gates. Once in school grounds students will be directed by staff to their House area. • We ask that parents drop their child off away from the school and not at the front of the school on Springfield Road to prevent too much congestion. Please assist your child to use the crossings provided. • At the conclusion of the day, students will be escorted to the Springfield Road gates and then will be able to meet their parents at the same point they were dropped off in the morning. To assist us to keep social distancing measures in place please plan to not meet your child at the front of the School on Springfield Road, but away from Blackburn High School. • We ask all students to wear a face masks indoors unless a medical certificate permits the child from wearing a mask for medical reasons. We do understand grade 6 students have not been required to wear masks indoors at their school. • If your child is exempt from wearing a face mask for a medical reason, would you email (karen.parker2@education.vic.gov.au) a copy of the medical certificate to the school nurse, Karen Parker by Friday 4th December 4pm to assist with our planning. Students and staff at Blackburn High School wear a face mask throughout the day as instructed by the Department of Education COVID 19 guidelines. Face masks are not required outdoors except where 1.5 metres physical distancing cannot be maintained. • To adhere to the DET guidelines students will be placed in their classes where they will participate in activities with two teachers. Classes have been allocated to specific areas of the school for recess and lunch. • We ask that students continue to hand sanitise throughout the day with provided product. • Unfortunately, our canteen will not be open to purchase food or snacks so students will need to bring food for recess and lunch as well as a water bottle.
