Out of respect for him we will also hold our with. own events to honour his memory. We will hold assem- blies for each grade where we will pay tribute to the Late IEA SWAT Grand Chief. These will be scheduled as follows This will be conducted on Wednesday, March 10. Please read the parent Q & A below. Parents are welcome to join us at any of these assem- blies which are planned to last for around twenty minutes. Last week Wednesday, a group of Grade 12s conducted a presentation and a series of workshops with the Grade 7 cohort on the issue of gender inequality in Papua New Guinea. Equality for All, a student-led pro- ject, aims to spread awareness and shed light on the situation surrounding gender-based violence and equality in PNG. More importantly, we strive to give the younger generation the information and voice they need to speak up against this issue. The presentation on Wednesday allowed us to engage with the Grade 7s and it was really interesting to see and hear the students’ opinions and ideas. We look forward to working with students around the school and with other organisations in order to inform and expand our opportunities. We would like to thank all the Grade 7 teachers for their feedback and for allowing us the lesson time to do our presentation and to Ms Richards for assisting us with the presentation and project. This is a day for schools, students and the com- munity to say Bullying. No Way! Every year POMIS runs Grade level seminars for the entry level grades; G7/9/11. During these seminars students are taken through a series of exercises and infor- mation which detail the effects of bullying and the processes we have at school to deal with it. (G8/10/12 students receive a seminar on Cybersafety every year.) This year we are stepping up our commitment to battle this problem that affects all schools; we are using the Australian National Day of Action and ALL students at school will take an anti-bullying pledge on the day. This will be led by our Roll Call teachers and our three Deans of School; Joyce Nindivi, Greg Malie and Thomas Ka- vanamur. Nothing will ever change if we don’t make this a priority.
