BOARDROOM MATTERS By Ian Kyle Good afternoon, and welcome It has undoubtedly been a difficult period for everyone involved with the Club. There has been very little, if any, back to the Pure Stadium for this income, players have not been able to play and you the fans have not, in effect, had a team to support or “proper” football afternoon’s National League North to watch. There have been no away days, no pies and a pint, fixture against Gloucester City. It and not the camaraderie of a matchday that we will no longer take for granted. That said, we can and must take the positives is fantastic to be welcoming that have emerged through the lockdown. The support for the Club, and everything that the Club has done and tried to do everyone back and to see fans through this period has been fantastic. Both the Club and once again for a league fixture myself personally have received many messages of support and comments across social media have also been in the main but it would also be remiss of me extremely supportive for what has been going on both off and not to take a moment to think on the pitch during lockdown and then pre-season. There will always be a degree of negativity at any football about any fan, anyone associated club, regardless of the level, but the very fact that we know the names of the two or three on Portchat who are regularly with the club, or any friend or negative speaks volumes. A massive thank you must also go family member that has passed out to the volunteers who have kept the Club going during the last 6 months, and who now have the stadium looking better away since we were all last able than ever. There will of course be new faces on the pitch, but also to attend for a home league importantly off it, with the very experienced Mark Lockyear fixture and to pass on the joining us from Stockport, and Steve Dewsnip coming on board as commercial and operations manager. They will both be condolences of each of the around and about for most games home and away so please Directors to anyone who has lost feel free to say hello and introduce yourself. Steve has a particularly difficult task, as presently we are working to get all a friend or family member during previous sponsors back on board. Again, not easy in the current climate but vital to the Club, as it is with most clubs at this particularly difficult period. this level. There has been much upheaval and concern over the last 16 months or so, both in respect of health and finances for everyone involved at the Club. There has been much politics playing out between the Clubs and the League, and much presumably still to be played out, but it is fantastic to have finally reached the point where football once again becomes the focus. Enjoy seeing everyone again, enjoy the food and drink and the experience of the day, and most of all, enjoy the match! Ian 04#ONEPORT
