October is a month of magic as Ferrara transforms into a fairy tale kingdom for the event
‘Ferrara in Fiaba’.
A CENA CON LE PRINICPESSE – DINNER WITH THE PRINCESSES

The Kingdom of fairy tales has lost its magic word! Come and help find it and save the
kingdom.
At the entrance to the park, each child will be given a kit which contains a magic book.
With the help of mum or dad, follow the instructions and complete a series of
challenges, collect characters and complete a map which will lead them to the lost
word. Once the book is complete and has been handed back, say the magic words and
it will be exchanged for a little gift.

BACK TO WIZARD SCHOOL
16th & 17th October
MAGIC SCHOOL AT CASTELLO ESTENSE:
It is back to Hogwarts for all of you who are passionate about Harry Potter! Two
days of magic lessons, potion brewing, duelling and flying with some of your
favourite professors.
The event lasts 90 minutes Tickets cost:
€15 for adults (11+)
€12 for children aged 2 – 11 (Children must be accompanied by an adult)
Babies aged 0-2: free
Tickets include entrance to the castle, all the activities and a badge. Please arrive
10 minutes before the entrance time and wait on the correct platform!
INTERNAZIONALE A FERRARA
1st, 2nd, 3rd October
Journalists and author from all over the world meet in Ferrara to discuss current
affairs, culture, social changes, international politics and the future. To find out

WHAT’S ON IN COMACCHIO?
EEL FESTIVAL
2nd – 3rd & 9th – 10th October
A historic festival which celebrates the locally caught eel. A gastronomic stand
opens on Friday evening then for lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. During
the festival, there will be street animation, a craft market, farm products, fishing
demonstrations and much more, spread across the historic city centre.

MAGIC SCHOOL IN PARCO MASSARI:
The magic school includes a treasure hunt, potion experiments to make, magic
game challenges, arts and crafts and a special snack. At the end of the lesson the
young withes and wizards will be awarded a diploma.
‘Baby’ package deal times: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. / 4 p.m. 6 p.m.
Duration: 2 hours of entertainment
Tickets: €15 per child
Suitable for children aged 4-11
(They can be left with the entertainers without a parent if wished, during this time)
‘Senior’ Package deal: €25
Which includes:
Divination lessons (lasts 45 minutes – choose from the following times: 10.30
a.m. midday, 3 p.m. or 4.30 p.m.
Looking after magical creatures (last 45 mins. – choose from 10.15 a.m. 11.30
a.m. 2.30 p.m. or 4 p.m.)
Flying lessons and races (lasts 1 hour – every hour between 10.30 a.m. and 12.

VIAGGIO TRA LE FIABE – A JOURNEY THROUGH THE FAIRY
TALES
Parco Massari
Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. 11 a.m. midday 2 p.m. 3 p.m. 4 p.m. 5p.m or 6
p.m.
Join Merlin the Magician on a tour around the fairy tale kingdom. Meet Snow White
and the Seven Dwarves and have a delicious snack, meet Anna in her kingdom of
ice and do some arts and crafts. Conclude the tour with a fairy tale show.
Tickets cost: €12 for children aged 2 – 11
They include the tour, snack, entertainment, arts and crafts workshop and show.
The tour lasts 1hr and the show lasts 30 mins.
Adults can accompany their child but are asked to at the back of the tour so that
the children can participate in the activities. Adults can also reserve a seat at the
show for €2.

The Salamina Ferrarese is a special type of sausage which is cooked very slowly in
wine and spices for a very long time. It is served with creamy mashed potato which
helps balance the strong flavor. Madonna Boschi is famous for this traditional dish and
it is a food fair which is well-worth a visit.
